I subscribe to the linux mentality of "pronounce it as you will", but I say my name as:

RY-lan

Always funny when you come across people who've read the same book as you and you both have totally different way of pronouncing character's names.

EDIT: to people who don't know, linux is pronounced as both LI-nux and Lin-ux and maybe even some other variations..

Is-loon-a, I can't see any other way to pronounce her name.

What does it do? >.>

It's the key ingredient in healing potions, so its scarcity defines the economy, at least in Aetolia.

Saaga is pronounced S'aah'g'ah, so that the h's are rather silent.

Callia2007-02-15 16:37:23
Shishi, I always pronounce your name is 'shie shie' with the second 'shie' in the second intonation. Sounds better that way anyways. Plus, pronounced that way, it has a chinese spelling, which makes life easier for me. I didn't catch it this morning, but what was posted is not actual Chinese for thanks... the family symbol was wrong. (Thanks in Chinese. Thank you would be Shie Shie Ni(n).

Anyways, Callia=Cal-li-aa

Parayshia= Parra-ee-shie-aa

Actually, if you want to 'translate' Chinese to English, the best way is Han Yu Pin Yin.

For 'thanks' it'll be xie xie, both fourth intonation. (xie4 xie4)

For ni3, its the normal 'you'. nin2 is 'you' the respectful form of 'you', and usually used for parents, teachers, people older than you.

Those 'x'es in han yu tend confuse me. Zhuyin all the way! <_<
