Finally! Vindication!

Everyone else kept trying to correct me.

And all this time I was thinking 'Ah-stray-ah'

What a damnable fool I've turned out to be sad.gif

I think Soll = Sawl.

I think Valarien would have named himself something else if he'd played Achaea.

And I like this thread. Xenthos and I do this for fun sometimes. And yes, Shayle = shale. Yay for simplicity.

Stupid Achaea.... losewings.gif

Oh, and because Maeka doesn't post on these forums, I'll tell you how to pronounce her name (in my opinion, I don't know how Solarus intended it to be): MAH-eh-kah. Sorta like Micah, but you kinda prolong the I sound, and it's an AH-eh diphthong, not AH-ee. *sagenod*

Which sounds like doll and ball... so that can't be right.... cause Soll just said it wasn't. sad.gif

I must know now! How is Soll supposed to be said? laugh.gif

Oh, right, forgot about that. tongue.gif

Zeh-kul-kaan.

I think there was an entire thread on it, Noola.

Wow... I totally would have pronounced Maeka as 'May (like the month) ka'

Tz is a sound that can be made, just not naturally for most English speakers. Kinda like Kj or Mb.

EDIT: And if you can't figure out Xavius, you need help.
Diamondais2007-01-26 20:40:39
Mine's fairly simple. Dye-lar-ah.

That's how she pronounced it for a long time actually. happy.gif I also thought maybe MEE-kah, because the ae is actually supposed to make an ee sound (encyclopaedia). But I like MAH-eh-kah better.

Exactly, but, as you've said, it's difficult.

That said, my post is officially redundant.

Ever heard 'Sohcahtoa'? It starts like the 'Soh' in that, then just ends 'll'. God, it's clearly hard to explain, because you'll pronounce it differently. tongue.gif

For being so damned short, your name is ridiculously hard to pronounce. blink.gif
Daganev2007-01-26 20:49:16
Soll spelled his name wrong, its supposed to be Saul
Soll2007-01-26 20:50:53
Saul isn't right either. tongue.gif Saul = Sawl != Soll.

Seems like it would rhyme with soul then... or bowl or roll.

And wouldn't Saul rhyme with ball or fall or doll?

er.. the Soh in Sohcahtoa still matches will with pronouncing it like Ball or Doll tongue.gif Sawh, Sawl, Dawl, Bawl.. all the same sound tongue.gif
Shayle2007-01-26 20:55:07
Obviously it's Sawl's silly English accent that's screwing everything up.

Really, Saul, stop being so difficult. closedeyes.gif
