Astroglide? What is that, exactly? I'm transcendent planar, and I don't seem to have it.

It's an Astrologer skill, of course! It allows an astrologer with sufficient planar skill (Astrogate or something in Planar) to basically teleport to their org's Astral node for 5p.

Ohh, no wonder I don't have it. Heh. I'm still deciding on my tertiary skill. blush.gif

One of my many mistakes was trying to return to Taurus every time. It was the only node I had spores to, and I don't know astral at ALL, so I kept wanting to stay where I felt comfortable. But mistake. Especially when I ran out of node spores. And I never asked for more - another 20 would have won it for me, I think, since I had the staff four times and couldn't get to the node fast enough because Tandrin kept greatpenting it, preventing me from getting in before the one minute limit was hit.

So many stupid mistakes sad.gif

Just my opinon, but I think anyone who didn't bother to log in and support someone they thought should win, or would be better having won, has no leg to stand on in faulting those who did join the event and support those they felt should win. God knows there was enough candidates needing the support and could have done better with more people helping them instead of making peanut gallery comments after the fact.

To be fair, some of us weren't allowed to support who we wanted to. I logged in for about five minutes and considered helping but changed my mind and logged back out.

4) Keeping the node unforested so Gloms couldn't flow in, though I think that eventually failed due to not everyone knowing what was going on.

Yeah, it only took one druid who wasn't there at the beginning to completely screw that up and lose the staff for us sad.gif

Apparently, yelling DO NOT FOREST isn't clear enoug... meh. I can't blame him though with all the insanity spam. I'd think he'd get the hint after I truegrounded his forest three times in a row not to keep doing it >_<

Yeah, would've been fine anyway if he'd unmelded when he thought he did, I think! Anyway, didn't someone say they flew in, as opposed to flowing? Or was I just misreading something in the assorted spam?

Can you choke from the skies? I thought you couldn't, since you needed to drop the cauldron.

I just wanna say...
Shorlen- I think you are being REALLY awesome about that near second. It's really touching to see you stand up for Soll/not be bitter! (I would be!!)
Soll, best of luck!
Now that I'm off the "I lost 2 levels" low, I actually tink the event was sorta fun. A nice break at the least. Fair, maybe not, but I'm glad I took part. Also, Hallen, I think it's awesome you showed up, even as the underdog

All the badmouthing Soll and the event in general seems to have died down, but I might as well put in my two cents anyway.

The event is over, and while it might not have pleased everyone, it got a lot of people involved, had a lot of intensity and emotional investment, and (parts of it) were really fun. Therefore I think it's fair to say the admins did a good job and (for those who criticized) the best they could under the circumstances, including the fact that this is the first time they did it.

There were even parts of the final event I enjoyed (like walking around Cap and racking up hundreds of thousands of gold and five levels from my insta-kill Medallion), and it was heartening to have people pulling out stops and trying real hard to help me out, especially when I can't bash or fight for squat, though there was a lot of craziness and spam as well. It was back and forth enough that it wasn't a foregone conclusion who would win for most of the time, and a lot of people put in tons of hard work and effort. Nobody (including the admins) should be surprised about it being divided along organizational lines, if you wanted it based purely on the most eligible you might as well not play Lusternia at all, it's just the nature of the game's conflict.

As for Soll, I don't know him especially well, but he's always struck me as nice guy and he was up there fighting and dying and had the support and numbers that helped him to win, plain and simple. For his sake I hope he can pull off being an Ascended God.

Lastly, if anyone else feels like disputing my comments, just keep in mind that I wanted very badly to win and I'm still quite upset about losing, but I'm trying to look at it in an unbiased light.

So the special powers of the Medallions were insta-killing tentacles and eyeballs? ... ... ... ohmy.gif That is so worth winning a challenge for

I had no trouble getting to you without flowing. The trouble was getting the Dancers in around the greaterpent and monolith. I remember looking down and going "What, no demesne? Ourtb rad, sli... censor.gif No sling!? GAAAH."

That is so ridiculously wrong.

Here's what happened.

We were at the node. The Magnagoran group was to the southwest. They were trying to beckon, we were staying put. I figured they'd rush in rather than waste time with fruitless beckoning so I summoned a forest and melded. You started saying no so I dissolved the meld. For whatever reason, the command didn't go through and the meld didn't get dissolved. Roughly twenty seconds elapsed wherein everyone was bitching at me to stop foresting. I spammed the dissolve command to make damn sure it went through and it did. The terrain was truegrounded a second or two after I dissolved. Then a cauldron dropped from the skies. I went to pick it up but choke was quicker.

To summarise: Xavius already said he had no trouble getting to us without having to flow, there was no multiple foresting, a cauldron was in fact dropped down onto us.

It was nice to get the benefit of the doubt, honest.

Xavius has Crow. If Crow didn't grant increased mobility, it'd be a worthless skillset. You can't keep Xavius out of anything. It took longer to get Diamante there. He eventually found the hole in the defense.

Hmm. I suppose we'll have to lose a sylph in the sky there if this ever comes up again!

Why didn't you just carry Diamante with you?

(Disciples of Klangratch): You say, "I allready came up with a great story line
explanation for Soll's assention. "Having experienced all that the mortal
organizations had to offer, Soll decided to go on his own and explore the
universe"."

Thats how I'm going to understand the guildhoppiness of Soll and why he was the -perfect- choice for godhood.
Gandal2007-01-28 03:17:00
Soll was a pretty good power minister. Strict, but effective.

And...everyone seemed to have died except for Shamarah, who made millions of gold and 5 levels. How much exp and gold were they worth?
Ixion2007-01-28 03:41:18
Was busy so I couldn't be here, but I didn't expect Soll to win when Shorlen and Hallen were ahead and so close.

Oh, I died over and over and over. But as Volroc (Hallen, I assume?) said, the medallions instant-killed every single kethuru spawn in a room when you walked into it, and since rooms could generally have like 3-15 spawns in them I was gaining such ridiculous amounts of experience that the dying hardly mattered at all.
