Carbonated beverages will indeed be the downfall of Western society.

While we all certainly hope that Britain goes first, I see no problem with enjoying the sweet luxury of Canada Dry ginger ale here in the States.

Nothing beats Guarana Soda. NOTHING.

Or Coca-cola sweetened with cane sugar, instead of corn glucose which is what they use in the US.

I recently discovered they sell that at the shops here too, though in limited edition. The design of the bottle captivated my interest so I bought a bottle for my sister and me (since it was quite expensive). The flavour is just godly, I wish it would become commonly sold here. Got a bottle decorating my room now because I thought it looked pretty

I looked up this Ramune soda. I'm not impressed by the bottle, Arizona Iced Tea bottles are by far much prettier. IMHO.

I lived in Houston for a couple years. My first visit to a Mexican restaurant, I had a little trouble ordering a drink. I asked the waitress what kinds of pop they had. She gave me an unbelievably blank look. I repeated it a little more slowly. "What kinds. Of pop. Do you have?" Same blank look. She said in slightly strained English that she didn't think she had any. So I started throwing out other names for it. Soda. Soda pop? Soft drink? Fountain drink? You know, you hold the cup under it and the drink comes out and it has bubbles in it? A lightbulb goes off and she says, "Oh! You want a Coke!" And I go, "No! I don't want a Coke. I want to know what kinds of pop you have." And we went round and round all over again until someone wearing a Minnesota Twins shirt helps me out. (The natives certainly would never help me. I was a Yankee. "Southern hospitality" isn't about being hospitable, it's about subjugating women.) Hugely frustrating.

Not a downfall of western society, but surely a downfall of its health. My advice - drop it.
But I must say, it's good for some kinds of nausea.

Way back when I was still poisoning myself with it, I liked cherry coke.

I love mountain dew, but I only have it when I need a caffeine boost. I consume too much sugar.

Root beer is delicious too.

I love soda. I really love grape soda which unfortunately doesn't come in diet, but in terms of diet sodas I tend to stick with diet dr. pepper. Mmmm

Diet Dr Pepper is one of the best diet sodas. Still has a nice flavor.

Diet Mountain Dew doesn't taste like regular Mountain Dew. It tastes better.
