Influencing?

I'll reword it for Richter: We should have a way to gain demigod that can either be achieved by pacifists and/or isn't a hopeless grind.
Perhaps there should be a demigod-like prize for RPing well? Though this would be a nightmare for the admin to monitor...
Verithrax2007-06-06 16:06:59
I'll restate what Ytraelux said: isn't a hopeless grind.

For the benefits Titan and Demigod provide, you should have to grind some. It's worth it.
Verithrax2007-06-06 16:35:47
There's a difference between making an effort and grinding.
Daganev2007-06-06 17:06:29
If you wish to make demigod status by RP alone, then I suggest you send in the emphemeral applications whenever they come up. Can't get more demigod than that.

It's really not that bad of a grind - I get bored easily with most things, and bashing wasn't that bad. Astral forces you to bash for a little while and find interesting things to do in between.
Verithrax2007-06-06 17:17:43
I think a different reward for roleplay would be appropriate; Demigod-hood doesn't seem appropriate, and Ascension doesn't reward roleplay but rather success in other areas.

Those two are almost completely unrelated, and you know that.

This is probably in vain, but I'd just like to ask you to PLEASE start making even the tiniest bit more sense, Daganev.
Also, Ephemeral only has one M.

Ok... here is a translation.
If you don't Roleplay, ephemeral are not the same as demigod, if you do role play they are nearly the same thing.
I don't think it was that confusing.

I'm just going to give a very short comment on this thread based on what Daganev had to say.
Ephemeral != Demigod in any way shape or form. Being an ephemeral is very hard, very stressful, very time consuming work that is not for everyone. It could very easily be considered as much of a grind, if not more, to become a God from Ephemeral as it is to get to Demigod from level 1.
Ephemerals are well cared for and much loved by the Administration team because each of us was there at some point or another, but it really and truly is not for everyone. I would not recommend applying to be an ephemeral simply because you want to get quick power without the work involved because there's still a lot of work to do after becoming an immortal.
That is not to say, however, that being an ephemeral and subsequently a god is not rewarding, because it truly is rewarding. I've made some amazing friends and have been able to express myself creatively in ways I never could have as a mortal and I truly appreciate and feel blessed to have such an opportunity.

I thought ephermals were behind the scenes folks not meant to roleplay at all and only coming out when necessary? So, how could a roleplaying demigod and an ephermal be similar?

Gorky Hardbottom comes to mind
I wasn't be entirely serious here, I thought that much was obvious.
What I was vaguely refering to was this.
To have someone become a demigod through RP, the admin would have to look at the person and see their accomplishments, see how well they work at RP, and see how well they handle other players. Which pretty much sums up what they ask for in the Ephemeral applications, minus the coding and building abilities.
Shiri2007-06-07 00:47:24
Seriously, you can just do the grind like everyone else has to. *peer*
Unknown2007-06-07 00:49:49
Don't forget Kidaen. Once graduated Kidaen became a Denzien.
And Gorky was a Denzien who became an Ephemeral.
So confusing.

I wouldn't be so put out if influencing was any kind of a way to hit level 100.
Why is there no viable high level influencing area? It's one of the main things we promote when trying to draw new players, isn't it?

Ah, that too.
You scream at Fearion, the guide, for being such a pig headed fool.
You have scored a CRITICAL point in the conversation!
You laugh at Fearion, the guide, because you know you're far better looking.
You have scored a RIDICULOUSLY POWERFUL CRITICAL point in the argument!
