Currently, on Achaea forums there is a thread about Lusternia. It has me and others moving over this MUD (well at some degree). So, if you see an spike in memberships, it may be us Achaeans biggrin.gif

Lusternia seems pretty awesome though. Has many things I would like in Achaea and things I wouldn't have even thought of. Looking forward to joining a guild at some time.

Thanks!

Glad to have you! A lot of us (myself included) are ex-Achaeans who got sucked in over here and never went back.
Shamarah2007-02-02 14:03:49
Mmm, noobs.

Welcome to Lusternia!

That forum thread is quite amusing actually.

Even Ceres is almost being inoffensive. And it's nice that Moggy et al. are sticking up for us. biggrin.gif

EDIT: Achaean forums suck, I kept forgetting what page I was in because it wasn't highlighted differently like here.

Hello, good to have you around! smile.gif

Anyways, from what I've read in the link you provided us, you can have fun even without credits like Aetherships and Manses, plus you can beat people without artifacts if you fight and cure well (Instant kills ftw).

Hope to see you soon around! laugh.gif

I love Lusternia's forums, I actually go read them once in a while whenever I'm irritated by some of the posts here. Theirs are so relaxing in comparison, it's like a yoga island of love.

Awww. Anyone else getting the warm fuzzies? Come on, everyone. Group hug!
Aison2007-02-02 15:16:15
As long as the griefers don't come to Lusternia, it's all good.
Veonira2007-02-02 15:24:13
Indeed, I migrated over from Achaea the day Lusternia opened and never looked back. So yes, welcome!
Shayle2007-02-02 15:28:24
I just hope the bad bad bad names stay in Achaea.

But welcome to all those people who want to (role)play with us!

The Achaean griefer community would leave after noting the lack of horkvals and monks. I think you're safe.

I remember those forums, took one look at the set up and topics and started playing Imperian for a bit. Welcome to Lusternia, by the way.

Now, now. While I grant you that the ongoing flame wars are unproductive, there's no disputing that Achaea's forums are comedy gold half of the time, due to that volatile combination of raging e-peens and thin-skinned nerds. Who can turn away from a good train wreck?
Jigan2007-02-02 16:22:43
Certainly not the trains.

Heh, welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay. Reading your forums made me think "Wait, I'm missing what now?"

Always nice to get two views on a situation.

Look at it this way, they'd have to face the already highly-imbedded Lusternia Griefers.

Welcome! Here's some advice which applies for IRE-experienced people in general:

1. I found gold, and as a result, IC-acquired credits, much easier to get in here than other IRE games. Don't ignore the village mini-quests! Even giving lousy chickens to lazy farmhands gives you 80 gold/animal.

2. Don't worry about the PK rules, only the biggest griefers (most of them are no longer active) target non-enemies. If you're really worried about having to pray though, invest in Vitae elixir. Works like Starburst Tattoo, but the griefer can't attack you again because of Avenger protection.

3. Warrior-only advice: for PvP, STRENGTH is the most important stat (forget about Dex, it does next to nothing), and your weapons should have high Wounding (Damage is a difficult path to follow) AND at least decent speed. For PvE, Speed is the only weapon stat that matters.

4. I'm a troll only when I need to blow off steam. I'm generally a nice person. Really.

A few bit of tips from me as well:

1. If you hate fighting, go influence, another form of 'bashing' except doesn't require killing, some do influence first than bash for double exp. During influencing you'll gain esteem which can be imbued on items and used to defile/sanctify/offer to a shrine, or sell them for gold, 15k is the known highest, 7k is the known lowest for me.

2. If you still hate fighting, go guide pilgrims and scholars, there are about 12 scholars roaming around the mountains and 20 pilgrims all in all, each giving you 100 gold per.

3. As Cuber says, don't be afraid of PK if you'll be hanging out on Prime for awhile, with the Avenger system, you'll die once but not twice from the same person (unless they really REALLY want you to die and don't care about a freaking Avenger.)

4. Many ways to get gold, questing, killing, begging (influence type attack) and of course, Aethercommerce. (See HELP AETHERCOMMERCE for more details when in the game.)

5. Just don't be afraid to ask for help, we'd be happy to guide you. If you want to talk OOC, do it privately, people with trust or join some 'insane' clans. (Up to you to find them, really shouldn't be encouraging these right?)

6. And last but not the least, enjoy and show respect, that way both sides won't start hating OOCly, ICly.

Again, see you in the game soon. smile.gif

Found this post by one bloke amusing:

Well, at level 99 you become a titan, and then at level 100 you become a demi-god with the possiblity to become an Avatar of your God. Also they have this thing called 'roleplay' and an indepth storyline in which to 'roleplay' they also have had ships for a long time.

I forgot the most important piece of advice!

Rats/Weevils - Don't Do It! Unless you're really desperate, and I mean eat-grass-or-die desperate. It's really bad for gold and XP. If someone tells you to rat or weevil when you ask what to do to get gold, you have my permission to laugh in their face.

I rat/weevil when I don't want to leave outside Celest... at least I'm getting gold, though only small amounts of it. The important thing is you get gold no matter how fast or slow it is, you'll get them in the end. wink.gif
