One thing nifty about choke is that highly skilled healers can stay outside of it and farheal.

On the flip side of that, the skillset healing is completely negated inside choke. Instant diagnosing and instant curing turns into being just as slow as normal curing, and you also can't stack it with normal curing. Healers lose all advantage they have from their skillset inside choke over non-healers.

If someone is size 25 in choke... um...

Why wouldn't you do something like "nature vine" them? : P

Which does something known as burning EQ, thus keeping them from tumbling or attacking... hmm!

Not really that bad if you're a Mugwump.

Are you neglecting the +1s from Choke? It's not really all that ineffective if one person is vining (just like it's not ineffective for one person to vine in any group combat : P).

The issue is if 7 people are vining... in which case there's a lot of wasted action.

I fail to see how vining helps you charge them out of a choked room.

It doesn't help you charge them out, of course. However, if they up their size to 25 to reduce being moved... they get other penalties, which you're able to exploit. (Writhe time was one example)
Shryke2007-03-01 23:13:59
Are you guys dense? There are many tactics that can be used to beat choke, as I said earlier, choke is CLEARLY not OP sinmply because of it's mechanics... Learn your good choke skills... see: multy affs in one hit/hindering/moving/passive skills.

It's not my fault Serenwilde is incompetent at defending. When there are lots of you, YOU HAVE THE ADVANTAGE, not me. If you suck too much to kill me 5v1 in choke, though, that's honestly not my problem and you should suck it up instead of whining for nerfs.

Kthx!

When Shamarah chokes a room, God kills another kitten. Stop the griefing! hide.gif
Clise2007-03-02 04:45:09
However you may save them by clapping your hands! ..... or in Shamarah's case, post more cat posts.

Gah, I'm agreeing with Shamarah. What's the world's coming to?

You fail to see how keeping them in choke is a good thing because you have the ability to bring more passives to the fight than the attackers can.
Krellan2007-03-04 08:08:26
agree with those who said to just gank them in the choke, at least when Seren is raided anyways. The most they've had has been Diamante and Narsrim which I'll admit was hard cause they're both great fighters and both good strategists that can adapt and be creative.

As for slowing fae in choke: Terrible terrible idea. While you mentioned valid points about stacking afflictions that was only from a shadowdancer side. Moondancers only have a crone to give afflictions. That's it. The barghest and Redcap are replaced by maiden and mother and maiden is never even out when you go into combat. Though sometimes I like to bring it out in the arena when power doesn't cost anything cause she has a tendancy to cure a lot of afflictions and heal ridiculously fast when you get lucky enough.

You fail to see
Please don't assume things. I'm sure you know the old adage.

It can be a good thing. For instance, xavius and bael died to bleeding inside sham's choke the other day in the etherwilde.

On another note, let me say that when the point of a 'raid' becomes to simply slay as many defenders as possible and not actually -do- anything, it ceases to be a raid and becomes griefing.

I notice you change your point of view, opinion and direction of arugement every time someone points out a mistake. So now you have lernt to fight in choke and can use it as you or allies have slain xavius and bael in it, if this is so then right thanks for proving my point if this isn't right then make your point clearer.

On your second completly unrealted note which has nothing to do with your ability to fight in choke or in this thread, killing people is part of the game get over it and be glad that glomdoring are being such good sports comparitevly speaking.

A little less hostility please. k thanks.

I'm making observations from IG and talking about them, not wildy swinging my points around, I can understand a point and still speak against it, I in fact often do, I like seeing both sides of an issue. You can see me arguing against myself in other threads if you want to search for them. This does not mean I fail to see things however, or am making things up, as you keep accusing.

Edit:Also, again, don't assume things, there was a lot I edited out of the previous posting, just because it had no point in being said again.

Edit:Edit:Reworded to appease the forum trolls.

Edit x3:

I'd like a clarification on this actually. What are you comparing the daily glom raids of the etherwilde to?

Mind toning the personal attacks down a bit? k thanks.

Mind pointing out the personal attack to me? Someone pointing out that your argument does change/morph over time isn't a personal attack. It's something that's an observable fact (and, well, you're hardly the only one who does this).
Krellan2007-03-05 00:23:30
i'm not sure how effective bedevil is or even works, but I personally think that would do well in choke since it'll give multiple afflictions if it works like I think it does
