I once dropped choke, and used my ice wand against another ebonguard, which was stupid because they were an axe lord. (some reason I thought they were going to be using rapiers)

It would have been perfect if I had waning.
Sylphas2007-05-03 15:36:09
Maybe this is just me, but I'm kind of confused. WTF are we talking about choke vs waning as a warrior? Do warriors really bother using succumb?

If you are sipping mana, you arn't sipping health!

p.s. that was a joke. Ok, sorry for slightly derailing the topic a bit, I just wanted to make the wiccans jealous of my wand of ice walls
Unknown2007-05-03 15:52:54
I'm jealous of those bloody wands already! I WANT ONE!

If only I had been able to let my car insurance slide for that auction. Of course, then I'd never have gone Bard and had nifty illusions...

Do you know how often I died because Sham or Diamante dropped choke at the wrong moment? tongue.gif

heh well i don't think i said it's not a two edged sword in mid combat. But there's another use for it besides just trying to kill someone where it gives the full advantage.

Yes, but you can't just leave it up forever and its quite expensive I think, which means that 90% of the time other people on your side will be there as well.

Pitiful. Just pitiful.

IF you were to learn from Mother Night, adapting relentlessly and mercilessly in the face of danger, you would learn to overcome such obstacles. But like the whining, craven 'spirit' that patrons you, you cringe in the face of challenge and shrink from the thought of true adversity.

Harden up, wretch.
Unknown2007-05-03 23:31:46
Hmm.

Glumki happen to be a Dreadlord too? *eye Murphy*

You compare me to a mere mortal? Ha! I am far more fearsome and terrible then some decrepit aslaran.

(Psst, not alone mind you)

Back to topic.

For the MDs who complained about how hard a time they are having, please do look at Tuek and what he does. MD's aeon lock is viable to the point of OPness too. Just depends on how you use it.

For the SDs, succumb drains a little too much for a passive skill considering choke.

things have changed a lot now. I talked with Tuek a bunch, I loved to watch his fights. but things are different, it's really a lot harder to stick aeon as a dancer now.

Well I never said it's impossible, just that (a) it's not as easy as some people seem to think (assuming your target doesn't have screwed to no curing) and (cool.gif ... try -any- kind of lock as non-mugwump *cringe*

And the topic was succumb. tongue.gif I'm glad you do see that for a passive drain succumb is just a bit too much, but even outside choke it can be used very very nicely and is >> lash.

How come? Tuek used the exact same skills that dancers have now.

well it seems like the overall curing has gotten better for the main systems that people use. especially with aeon, which was pretty much the strenght of the dancers. and other things got removed that were pretty strong like forcing focus mind. But then again he said he never used that so that doesn't apply to him I guess.
Shiri2007-05-04 10:54:43
Glumki is one of those irrelevant Night Avatars. It's not the one the player behind that forum account clearly thinks it is though. tongue.gif

Those arguments don't really fly...

As far as I can see, moondancers as strong as they've always been. They just lack combatants of the ability of Tuek or Narsrim, to show them off as the cretinously OP class they always were, and remain.
