What the hell do you think Kethuru was?!
By the way: this is SO cool. It's going to be a lot better than Icons in Achaea... did you guys watch that experience before designing the system? It just puts tingles in my giblets...

It's called sarcasm.

First spaceships, now mecha. What's next, tentacle monsters? Teleportation? Anthropomorphic animals? Effeminate-looking guys that call themselves 'bishounen'?
Every time I try to respond to something you've posted, I now have to go back and read it again.

We want to add more constructs and are open to suggestions for what they might do. For example, we are considering constructs that make avatars/aspects invulnerable on the ethereal plane and doubling the strength of ladies/daughter, and maybe something similar for Nil and Celestia. These effects would last as long as the constructs stand.
Yes please!

I thought we had teleportation.

QUOTE(Fallen @ Feb 11 2007, 09:06 PM) 382486
That's an idea.. if you don't have a construct built, then a colossus can be built at your nexus and its attacks will drain power. But so long as you have a construct, your nexus is protected from attack.
That just forces conflict and that seems something that we were trying to get away from. We have enough things we're required to defend for RP/morale/organizational power reasons without adding something else.
If an organization does not want the beneficial aspects of the constructs due to their costs or the requirement to defend them once built, they shouldn't have to have one to protect their most valuable asset, their nexus.

I did. I just wasn't sure what the bishounen thing was and did not feel like looking it up.

I don't like this idea, those get killed rarely enough as is and they already have the immortal time period after being revived. Killing those is really the only big hit you can do to another org at the moment, though I imagine the Colossi will be another once it becomes used more. Even so, I don't think adding one large goal should nearly remove the possibility of reaching another goal.
I don't see the problem; all you need to do is kill the construct that increases the power of the avatars/supernals/lords before attacking those beings themselves. It also would be something to work toward for an organization that was being repeatedly battered having their beings killed over and over, which would give them a temporarily safer nation. It would also give defenders a heads up that “hey they killed our construct, they’re most likely coming after our Planar Beings next!â€Nothing is absolute about this, but this gives more shades of gray in both directions that I like, more to work for, more to tear down. It’s all about the little victories toward the greater goal.

Bishounen essentially means an effeminate, 'beautiful' male in the parlance of anime freaks. We have our share of those, unfortunately.

I don't really see it that at all Wesmin. I understand things are probably different in the Ethereal but attacks on the Cosmic beings are extremely rare as it is. It takes a very large force and a lot of motivation to take them on and most of the time that sort of force is simply not available and that is not even taking into account the defenders.
If we add in the necessity to build these colossi (and as someone else mentioned getting this many high level trade people around at once seems unlikely) and take down a construct? There will be no attacks on the Cosmic beings period. You make the point that the defenders will be alerted that there will possibly be an attack on their beings- well that pretty much dooms the attack to failure from the get go. They will be on high alert with a meld until they can get that construct back up. Not fun for the attackers, not fun for the defenders.

Wee, Krellan, me (when I actaully pay attention), Gehn, and Tael wasted all four apsects and got out really fast. Giving them more HP so they last longer would be great

One of the guides is, complete with beautiful, long, white hair.
Edit: Whoops.

What about a construct that drops the cost for certain discretionary powers to 0 and allows guild protectors to use those discretionary powers? For example, raising an Elemental Pyramid with upkeep of 1k power and 10k gold would allow any mage protector or security to use the Flux discretionary power at no cost at any time.
Also, we are looking for constructs with unique effects for specific cities/communes.
Keep posting your ideas!

Nexus-world conglutes for Defenders/attackers, at least during the event. Conglute makes people happy and prevents novices/low credit people (ie: me) from getting turned off from Lusty!

Good point! Though we probably won't be able to code that for the upcoming battle.

Ressurection would probably be a lot more valuable to some orgs than to others. Maybe a construct that lets Magnagorans without Necromancy be liched?

Ahem, that was off topic...
Anywhays, are collosi bits going to be individually damageable like aethership modules?
And on the topic of constructs, how about a "Seeing Eye" construct that is sort of like a giant crystal ball and enables scry/window at its location but with its own balance (i.e. the construct itself has a balance to using the ability), disregarding planar separation rules?
