If this construct works as Zenji says, then in my opinion it wouldn't be worth it even with no upkeep.
Drawdown as a passive bonus for all would be a bit powerful, it is incredibly potent both for PvP and PvE.

I believe a permanent version of Shine for everyone in Serenwilde would be a good choice (better for those who already have the skill), although so many people have NO idea how the skill works that it's laughable. I'll comment on it later, I have to leave the computer's side for now.

Maybe as another bonus having the Moonchilde aura would protect your corpse so it could never be destroyed or offered? Or at least it would be protected for a certain amount of time? Or maybe make it so Resurgem experience drain is lessened or some such thing?

Funny you should say that; I think you've missed that it was envoyed and changed completely for a second time since you were last around. Although I don't know if it actually works yet, they're probably more accurate than you are.

It's looking more and more that we're going to need the Altar to just defend Moon. Since by the looks of it, the Keepers aren't very strong.

Yeah, um, you should really stop trying to talk about this kind of thing. Things have changed considerably in the ~6 months it's been since you quit playing, and shine's function is completely different now. (Unless you started a new character up or something.)

Also, yeah, the Great Ladies (the ones on the bubble representing the phases of the moon) are WEAKER than the regular Ladies. Not sure why.

Thwarted!

The regular Ladies are weaker than the Grand Ladies, and the Keepers stronger than the Grand Ladies.

What would be cool for the Altar is if it removed requirements for night-time for certain skills/defs, or made the person always act as if the moon was full, no matter what phase it was in. I imagine it would be a coding nightmare to include this for covens, and a bit overpowered, but for individual skills it would be nice.

Also, I like the idea of using the construct to augment our resurrection (resurge) skill, but the current effect seems almost pointless. Maybe if a person who is under the effect of the altar dies, their soul can be resurged by a coven, even if the corpse has been consumed, provided that they are in the same room as the coven.
Krellan2007-03-11 20:10:19
I think the moonaura should add more of a combat offensive effect personally. Since it is a moon construct, it already gives everyone the ability to be resurgemed like giving everyone the ability to lich. Then regular necromancy users gain additional bonuses, so only Moon users should gain whatever effect is being brainstormed. Estarra did say they hope to come out with a Stag construct as well, I'd imagine after each organization gets their second construct.

Hrm...actually I'm taking back the combat offensive effect, but I think it's just suppose to be for moon users. It should give an effect so that all Moonusers are actually willing to use it and then the commune raise the structure. The crypt's cold aura effect only works for one person at a time when used in a group, but each necromancy user has their daytime penalties negated, so moonaura would need something that needs something to benefit all moon users. I feel like I'm saying the same thing over and over argh mind isn't working. scream.gif aww I want this to be a yawn. look how big that mouth is!

I think the suggestion about Moonaura letting skills being used during the daytime is good. There's already drapes or a manse artifact the night orb I think that can make it permanently dark while at the same time stops anyone from really abusing a rage coven at all times. so far I think an added mini shine effect that does somehting different based on the phase of the moon than shine does seems like the best idea. and the effects on each moonphase would just need to be thought of that I can't think of at the moment

The regular ladies get weaker and stronger depending on the phase of the moon though this doesn't show on their consider (I don't know if the keepers do this), they are even invincible for 1 hour a day (excluding 1 day every 25 days). We all know the consider scale is just a rough guestimation. Heck, by that indication Hyshan is as strong as Luna.

It depends on what attack options and modifications they have as well, take aslarans vs gorgogs, aslaran’s knockdown/bleed which I find much more annoying to deal with then the gorgog’s strong fire/magic combos. I killed trader bob once, once mind you, just to see what he did, he crippled my limbs like mad, that bugger. I wouldn’t have been able to deal with it without using Healing, but his damage and life aren’t that high at all. The gingerbread men on crumkindivia are another instance, moderate damage, but their attack speed is super high, I remember them attacking three times before Elryn recovered from cudgel'ing once.

Maybe it has to do with the damage types or something. I don't know, 2 of the 3 types of ladies definitely give me more trouble to kill than the Grand Ladies did.

*grumbles about the technical discrepancies between spatial placement and cylindrical placement of kyraj and gian and hyshan in the arc of grand ladies in reference to the seasons and the phases of the moon when compared to the etherwilde*

Other then that, and this new thing that the new moon is evil, greedy, and corruptive (sounds like Night not the new moon at all), it's a great area.

Kailak also makes me smile, she sounds like an 80's cartoon villain, all the ladies would fit right in to some of the cartoon's I watched as a kid. "Curse you -insert generic hero group name here- I'll get my revenge!"

Edit: offtopic.gif

Anywho, back on topic, talking with different people in game and on trillian, someone wants moonbeam for all seren's (don't ask me why, I don't think it's worth it, it's the worst of the seren travel skills now) another wants moonchilde to make drawdown 'sticky' as well, and lastly another wants it to duplicate spiritbonds in different phases, (which I also think is not worthwhile). :\\

Edit:Edit:I went, made dinner and came back, and I reread this, I think I came off a bit too harsh on the zone, and maybe this is just one of those things where the players diverge from the storyline and need to be guided back. I want to say I did love some of the descriptions included, the mirror for instance, it’s is extremely vivid. Good job, whoever wrote out the zone. spoton.gif

Well, the New Moon could really be equated to Night growing stronger than Moon and encompassing her for a time, metaphorically, so Night's tainting could actually have had an effect on Moon. Which would also explain why Moon wants Night taken care of--because she herself was secretly corrupted by Kethuru through Her sister!

Conspiracy theory ftw.
Ayridion2007-03-11 22:45:20
Kailak isn't actually the manifestation of the new moon, she was a Moon Lady(one of the sterling/silver/argent) appointed to represent the New Moon. However, having to portay a role that is devoid of the Moon's light/presence has twisted her - in essence, all she is in contact with is the Night. This, atleast, is my view.
Shamarah2007-03-11 22:57:57
I couldn't find Kailak when I was there! Is she in a secret exit or something?
Furien2007-03-11 22:59:25
Yeah. I think it's some 'quiet glade' or summat room. She's IN from there.

Edit: I say this only because I know there's a chance you kill her and, moon lady or not, I hate her guts.

>_< You know sham just asked so that he could kill her right? or see if there was an anti-quest? And the only reason he didn't know because he was to busy killing the Grand ladies to ask them how to find her?

His edit before your response does clarify that point. happy.gif
Sarrasri2007-03-11 23:05:24
Sadly, I think Kailak is unkillable. At least while the quest is being done she is. Accalia, Asmodea and I tried moonbursting her for at least 5 minutes trying to defeat her getting a bunch of criticals and oblit criticals and her still not dying. smirk.gif
Diamondais2007-03-11 23:07:32
Oh no.. why did you tell him Furien?

Now someone's going to have to fly up there just to make sure he doesn't try.
