So...I'm not sure I quite get the concept...is it like big fighting robots? Are we talking like Gundam or more like Eva? Do people just fight in their aetherships in this place like in an arena? I'm so confused...

Constructs are things you put on the Nexus World to give your city a small "boon" so to speak. Right now, we only get harmony (free immolations adn 25% exta XP on Aetherbubles). That ones is great alone. More to come!
Right, now we can make "collossi." These are constructs that fight and damage other constructs, and do more damage the more loyalists to their commune there are in the room. The contstructs can fight every few hours, eventually oyu can kill them, taking away the bonus.
Thoughts:
I forget if I posted this here, but let protectors crew constructs too! They are the "fighting team" sorta
Maybe add a contstruct powers to the "aethercraft" skill. Gunners could get a minor attack bonus, Pilots could work faster, Emapths could activate abilities? Don't know enought about construct combat yet to give something more meaningful, but that would be a fitting addition to aethercraft?
Some more random Ideas. Some suck, I know, but I'm just brainstorming
New Constructs
Dreaming Tree
Gvies a mild attack to -enemied- dreamweavers who go within X rooms of the nexus
Cost: Something low
upkeep: somthing low
Gives level 3 regen on mana, ego, and health at the nexus. (Again for novices- let's them heal up rather then use potions/sleep/med). Also lets bards keep their song going for now mana cost.
cost: low
upkeep: 70 or less power, 500 gold
Astralbridge
ASTRALGLIDE to all members for free
cost: medium
upkeep: low

This is an interesting change. I think this will be really fun when there are more constructs available. I also agree that the nexus worlds should have conglut for everyone.. since this has a wildnodes meets figure battles on steriods feel to it.
What I really really love is the opportunity for aetherspace battles. I've been chomping at the bit to see how these work. One thing that would be amazing to see is an "aether arena" of some sort were we can practice our ship-to-ship combat skills without wasting tons of power, gold, etc. As of now we're all afraid to learn how to combat a ship on the off chance that someone might slip up and completely destroy a friendly ship.
I think until we see something like the aether arena, aetherspace combat will still just be a "gee.. that'd be fun to try" concept.
In addition, I think that Aethercraft needs it's own envoy. It's a common skill, but hardly anyone knows anything about it to suggest changes, etc.

Lowe's having a hard time with the forums for some reason. Here's his idea:
<+Lowe> Contruct ideas:
<+Lowe> Moonlit/Darkened Willow
<+Lowe> Halves the amount of fae needed to create a Daughter/Lady.
<+Lowe> Fog Mirror
<+Lowe> Doubles the amount of ethereal creatures that appear in Ethereal plain.
<+Lowe> Silver Flame/Bleak Puddle
<+Lowe> Some fae now have brave soul/greedy, making them easier to influence by one commune and harder for another.

I like the system so far!
Just for clarification, the battle period begins at 23:30 GMT, right?
Tome of Understanding
Effect: Allows citizens to learn 20 lessons at a time, rather than 15.
Initial Cost: Medium
Upkeep: Medium
Disc of Water/Earth/Forest/Wyrd(I couldn't think of more imaginative names, sorry.)
Effect: Increases the maximum demesne size of mages/druids by 1.
Initial Cost: Medium
Upkeep: High

No to this one, since brave means it's not hard for Glom to influence with weaken, it's impossible.
The other three are great ideas though, imo.

There is only one thing I absolutely hate about the constructs/collossi. The first battle happens at the same time as my weekly tabletop, which means I won't be here for the battle at all : (
EDIT: Oh, wait, it already happened? Oh. I had my days wrong, I guess.

would Serenwilde let me borrow the mecha to hunt Merians?

Here's an idea for a construct...
I'm too lazy to think of a name for it, but a construct that will prevent people from becoming hungry or sleepy while standing at their nexus (like that one rite from Achaea).

The golden heart shimmers and shines brightly, the gold itself illuminating
every little detail on the heart down to all the tiny capillaries criss-crossing
each other. Each ventricle sparkles and beats independently of the other, slowly
and steadily. At the top and the bottom little clear tubes snake out of the
veins and arteries, ready to be attached.
It has 125 months of usefulness left.
oooooer!
edit: By the way, confirmations: Uses one entire powerstone, so in the help file where it says 100% reserves, the powerstone is indeed substitutable. The creation is an instantaneous action. You will still need a nearly trans enchanter on hand with you at the nexus world where you are building the colossi to place the heart into it, I believe. So no getting around the tradeskill requirements by making stuff ahead of time, of course.

I must agree with a construct that allows non-Necromancy Magnagorans to lich. It doesn't have to mimic lichseed by providing the defense against the next kill. Instead for instance, have immolating result in a lich. Or allows Magnagorans to die/relich at a particular room without penalty.
As for my thoughts on Collossi/Construct battles. I'm going to hold off judgement until I see it in action. It does have the potential to be rather interesting, and I can tell its been given quite a bit of thought.

Nation specific constructs could be very cool. (Lich-type thing) Maybe each could get a special "racial change" at the cost of a life? Mag would get you to come back as undead, maybe with a minor, minor damage buff, or ~3-5% defence (Come as a zombie, maybe?), Celestians could get a halo (lvl1 mana regen?), Serens could get , and Glooms could get "wyrden" which adds a, uh, something wyrdo-esc? (don't know enough about it to comment) But yeah, description changes FTW! (only reason I want stagform!)

We definitely want nation-specific constructs. Indeed, the city/commune patrons have been directed to generate ideas so talk to them!
Lich, hmm....
P.S. We are aware of some issues with the construct/colossi system and there are tweaks being planned!

I swapped guilds to get lich... and it was expensive. Filled as I am with self-centered self-ishness, I demand that people without it can't have it.

Does anyone know if the construct battles happened this morning?

Obviously it wouldn't give them the exp-loss free death of lich given by the necromancy skill.
And of course these kinds of liches are lesser and can be frowned upon by the 'true' liches who through study have naturally found Urlach's gift, without resorting to using some artificial construct to achieve and cheapen the state. Hmm, good rp-potential that!

The nexus worlds were weakened, not sure if there were any actual battles going on.

I don't think lich would be appropriate. But what about some other type of undead besides lich? Perhaps the construct would turn non-liches into something cool, and give liches some sort of bonus?
P.S. Talk to Morgfyre and Fain about this stuff!!

Well, I just say lich as a general undead word. Hmm, will talk to them about said idea though!
