Alright, since I'm fairly certain I'm going to stick with the Celestines, what do I need as a minimum to be effective? Basically:
Is Astrology effective at all or should I just suck it up and swap to Tarot and trans it?
I probably need to get Contemplate in Discernment if I ever want to Absolve someone, correct?
After that, should I learn more Highmagic, trans Planar to get Conglut, work on Combat, or someone entirely different (resilience maybe?)
Thanks.

I have to agree with the feeling about mages, demesnes are horribly boring, otherwise I'd probably still be an Aquamancer.
If you want to fight well, you're probably going to need to go tarot. If you like hunting, and giving yourself and others buffs (and enemies curses), stick with astrology. Don't trans either though, world isn't worth it, save a few credits and stop at the skill before, whatever that is (soulless or enigma, I think), and neither is constellation in astrology, stellium can be useful now and then, but thats another easy skill to cut. Highmagic is a rather low priority, imo. If you're going to be doing a lot of off-plane hunting or fighting, and ever want to see a level above 70, you're going to want conglutinate. As for the other two guild skills, I'd trans celestialism (if you're able to get contemplate in discernment too, otherwise stop at wrath or divine), and stop at numen in sacraments if you're short on lessons, or, if you're fine, trans that too for inquisition and trueheal.

I've already got Trans Celestialism and Sacraments, so I guess my next priority should be swapping out to Tarot and then getting to Conglut. Thanks.

I don't think mage combat is boring with psionics :/ but probably less fun than Guardians though I've never been one
Shryke2007-02-13 04:38:58
Just know, you can ALWAYS say, at least I'm not a bard!

I never found Geo combat boring... it's perhaps not as interesting as warrior combat is for me now.. but I always rather enjoyed it.

Try going for the Celestines then! If only rp would fit in heh. I'd like to imagine Athana and Ixion in white robes and shining armor.
Well Astrologists are indeed tricky, but if youre as good as Neerth, Acrune, and Shaeden. They can really turn Astrology into a nightmare for your opponents, given that it's not common so only few know how to cure it, you even need another Astrologist to cure some of the nastiest afflictions.
If ever you'd fancy Healing however, do contact me or any of the members of the Missionaries.

Celestines can are okay with trans celestialism. With those angels + symbol, you can push out afflictions like nuts. Problem comes it's always the same three.

Wow, you have been away for awihle if you didn't even know that. Ixion is basically the new, self-proclaimed divine patron of New Celest, and Athana is his avatar. They worship him and do everything he asks, for fear of his uber-swords. When he isn't around, Athana beats on them like a annoying puppies to make sure they don't get too far out-of-line. Only the evil Forren-demon even tries standing up, brandishing that annoying little twig of his and making it rain all over.
Yes, I am bored. No, I did not sleep much last night. It's a dangerous combination of factors.
