What does the privacy gem for a manse do? The description says it makes the room private, but that isn't very descriptive. Private from what? From view? From gods sensing your thoughts? Both? Neither?
Thanks.
Thanks.

No idea. I have one though!

Well.
It stops Angel Mindread from working.

Does it stop wolves or Divine? I know nothing can -really- stop the administration from watching, but I know there's got to be some way to nerf their basic spying powers, and I wondered if this did it.
We need more spying abilities.
We need more spying abilities.

I made a similar thread; response was generally:
1. Doesn't stop divine from listening
2. Supposed to stop people from listening in via enchanted paintings, but we/I decided this was useless since... well, you can probably figure it out.
3. No one was sure about people's pets, someone mentioned something about some glom ability and yadda yadda. But considering you'd have doors, make perms, no one's really going to listen in anyway. And you can kill spying critters like owls and dogs.
Need a private room? Get a door and set perms, no pets, no paintings - or don't enchant the painting. Privacy gem = waste of 100 credits.

I dunno how to explain this but this is what it'll look like.
You see exits leading north, south, southwest, and west.
Then if you activate the gem in western room, it'll show like this.
You see exits leading north, south, and southwest.
So people won't really know there is a pathway to the west, good for those secret exits and stuff.
(Kick me if I'm wrong )

That's something else. Stake of concealment or something.

Correct. Likewise, you can get a stasis gem and tapestry hung in a certain direction (tapestries supposedly conceal the exit), with the benefit of not having any other furniture decay.

Yeah, manse stake =/= privacy gem.

Here's another question along the same lines... What does Invoking Blue do, exactly? It doesn't seem to do a whole lot of anything, basically useless. Right?

It stops crow eyeballs and enchanted paintings as well.

What? It does?... Blue does? How? I thought Blue was used to protect what you are saying.

Yes. There exists a crow skill that lets them listen through eyeballs (don't ask me) and a psionics skill that lets psionicists listen through enchanted paintings. Having blue up is supposed to stop both of these. I've never actually tested the latter though, and it's been ages since the former was relevant.

Psionists can listen through enchanted paintings to what people say on the other side.
