Yes yes! biggrin.gif Homes on prime you can buy or...rent...for an indefinite amount of time. Either that, or lower Aethermanse prices, currently they are 300,000 to start, and 100,000 to add, right?

I would like to see appartments too, but I do not want them to be permanent, rather they should be like shops in cities, the cities can rent them out towards citizens or award them to citizens that are very productive for the city. For example in Celest the city should be able to build 1 room appartments in the non-merian quarter and rent them out, and in the upper section near the pool build 3-5 room appartments.

Then the city can for example award Forren a 5 room appartment for his longtime service to New Celest and for example a 1 room appartment for one year to a contest winner.

(this is essentially a popular system of several mmorpgs, so it might not be unique enough)

Aethermanses should not lower in price, 350k is CHEAP

Now to something Vesar said but that I would like too:

a form of aethership simulator, where you can hold wargames between ships. (eg. and aethership arena)

Anisu beat me too it... Aether arenas! I'd love to see more functionality with aetherspace. Aethercommerce is a huge step in that direction and I love it!

being able to be adopted even though one founded but rejected a family

Yes please. About right after I bloodbonded with my sister, she left and hasn't been seen since. I'd really like to join a different family, perhaps you could install a command like permreject instead of just reject, to clean up the family dealie, so would could join another.

Bashing areas have already been discussed, I'd like to see it too.

I'd also like to see more areas for hunting/questing, especially ones which require some effort to get to, similar to getting to the Tosha pits. I remember on the first MUD I played, there was this area which was really difficult to get to - first I'd need to dig in a mine to find a tunnel which led through the mountain to a huge tundra, where I'd wander around totally lost until I finally found another big mountain, where I had to kill something to get a key which would let me pass through a gate into a jungle, where there were a bunch of quests I'd need to complete to get through it, then swim up a river and kill a dragon guarding a gate before I'd finally get to the area itself. This area was always one of my favourites, mainly because it was fun to find the way there.

To buy a plot and house in Achaea (the prices will fluctuate), it's about 382k. 20k for the plot. 360k for the 60 credits (if you buy from their CFS, which from what I remember, is up near 6k per). 360k to add to rooms, plus 2k for putting in a room description and title. Add that with the prices of sigils (2 keys, a monolith, 2 eyes, flame sigils to go on each, just for the first room's protection), and it gets very expensive to support even a 3 room house. And with any upgrades, you're basically in debt.

Organisatorial quests that do -not- annihilate another org but rather are just about gaining a benefit for yours.

Example: Do quest xy and beat super-boss-mob-of-d00m and get a special item. Put that item up in your city. As long as your city holds the item every member of the city gets a certain benefit (like 5% to max health etc, or slight damage resistance, or exp bonus, or level 1 regeneration, or additional power gain or anything else you can think of). They keep the item until another org gathers a group and does the quest / kill the mob.. whatever.

EDIT: It would basically give people something to compete over that does not include forcing others to defend maybe for hours on end when they wanted to do something else (like raiding does for example).
Shryke2007-02-14 21:15:06
I worry about that sort of thing. Buffs like that allow certain orgs to gain a base advantage oveer others. It is a premise for one org dominating the rest, where one org has EVERY buff, and keeps the rest from getting any.

Bards enrichened and cloud9.gif scream.gif I'm definitely going to try for mortal builder.

I'd come back for some sort of engaging, solo, mechanics-rich PvE activity. Bashing gets repetitive, questing doesn't really take advantage of the fact that you're playing a MUD, and I outright refuse to get involved in politics a second time. I rather appreciate having a real life again. I've always (well, ok, almost always) liked your ideas more than mine, so don't think I'm being extravagant by throwing something vague like that out there without suggestions.

That depends on how OP the buff itself would be and if it's even possible to have all (ie five items total, but each city can only hold a max of three or whatever). Also, whether or not you can actually stop others from doing a quest, depends on the quest design. Also, the 'buff' doesn't even have to affect them directly, it could be something like increased karma blessing length or whatever. There's a whole wide variety of options.

So many good ideas!

We probably will only ever have aethermanses. It's Lusternia's unique housing system. sorrysign.gif

Not sure what compensation to give guild leaders, if any. I don't think credits are appropriate. Maybe karma? More things for karma to do? Ideas? Lighten.gif

An aethership arena is out of the question but I think the envoys and Roark had discussed some alternative idea that Roark said was doable but I forget what the idea is. Hope they put it in an envoy report and don't rely on my memory! (As the gods can attest, never rely on my memory...) granny.gif

Regarding areas, I can't really say more than I already have. We are always working on them and there's really not more to do until our staff increases with people who enjoy building. banghead.gif

Organizational quests sound nice in theory and talking in generalizations. But (as I've found out!) implementing them is another story. If you have specific ideas that you think everyone will jump onboard, feel free to post on plots (or maybe get feedback on the forums). It's not enough just to say we should have them, we need to look at specific ideas. stab.gif
Shryke2007-02-14 21:30:45
Aye, that would be fun.. I always wanted some pure RP skills in the skillsets, that let you change your entrance msg or something, or change your look when people look at you.. Like he is a nimble shadowlord faeing with a blackened beak (not that lame, but still). Then you get some cool emotes to do with your beak (though you could custom emote it too)
Genevieve2007-02-14 21:31:58
What about that ability to bind to the seals? Perhaps if you had to spend thousands of Karma to do it?

Bards enrichened cloud9.gif

I forgot to add that to my post, I wish Bard abilities had a bit more flavor text. The majority of the time when you use a song that gives you a defence you don't get any cool messages except for just how you're playing the instrument. I want to see how my skin churns and decays as I turn into an Undead from Undeadblues and what it feels like for Vileblood to be coursing through my veins.

A new trade skill: Mining

Dwarves: Increased effectiveness in mining, or forging. (Forging would have to be something subtle but worthwhile to not make it ridiculous, as I realize a lot of time has been put into balancing the forging/weapon system)

Mining would basically allow one to go to certain areas and mine, being able to produce certain commodities, and as a result rather then simply selling steel, allow either forgers or alchemists to turn iron into steel, *provided by the miners obviously*. But basically, I'd just like to see commodities become more of a player run part of the economy then something governed by the NPC shops system as it seems now.

Also, I've no great idea to do it personally, some sort of checks and balances instituted for further combat inflation in the economy of the game, being a past MMORPG player, I know all too sickeningly well how bad these sort of things can get, even if they seem unimportant and stupid to worry about at first.

I'd like to see Lusternia back up. sad.gif
Zacc2007-02-14 21:52:59
Rogues!.. maybe with similar, but rogue-ish, skill sets as their inguilded counterparts.

As stated, more hunting (am I the only one that uses that word.. ah, the old days of GSIII..) areas.

More ways to gain power and commodities.

More elixirs/potions with buffs and such.

New skill set for noncombatants.. similar to Imperian's engineering stuff? (this would also provide some neat defenses instead of totems/statues and guards).

Expand geography outside the Basin.. discover a city that escaped and still has an original nexus or power that's protecting it (couldn't drain it or else it would be defenseless). A vast, tainted area.. a forest.. a beach.. islands.. ruins.. all sorts of stuff.

Ackleberry! Please, please, please.. even if it's on an aetherbubble or severed part of Ethereal.

Cosmic herbs. Aether herbs (specific to each bubble).

More history. Lots more. Particularly on the many many Divine (those still alive and not). Maybe some others splintered on different planes.. where did gnomes come from??? Etc etc.

Personally I'd rather wait for it to come as a commune, and that would hopfully be in a -few- years at the current growth pace

We just got a new book, but where did the gnomes come from? Although we saw the Candy people in Aslaran's book. One thing down! (but gods can't make fae without splintering...)
