who would train them?

Trader Bob.. or some other nonaffiliated denizen. The furrikin guy in the World Library.. Traveling tutors.. a new learning system (learn from studying in the library!).

It's not building so much that's the problem, as getting all the quests and background set up. Churning out area descs is easy enough but designing it takes time and inspirtation. Of course, it doesn't help that certain members up here in Haven can't prog a quest to save their life. *cough*elostian*cough*

It's especially amusing when I run events that I progged myself. The prog always runs into the ground in the early stages and then I have to run like mad trying to debug screaming for Morgfyre to help me while I try to beat the players to a certain point. Of course, this has ensured I've gotten rather well at fixing up smudges without players noticing. At least I hope no one's noticed.

More of the small things!

* Different types of flowers: Everything from the Astral Plane's finger flowers to some bizarre rock-tulip that grubs eat on the Earth Plane.

* New Commodities: I want to be able to make things out of bronze/copper, be able to use crystal and obsidian , maybe some unique spices

* Special Holidays: Not like the little solstice things during Christmas or the once and a while Halloween events, I would love to see real Lusterian holidays - even if they don't get celebrated every ingame year.

One a larger scale:

* More low-key roleplaying events: I would like to see Gods take more of a role in their organizations by possessing denizens, even if for something small like "Oh, how is the weather today?" Up til now, we have to get them to speak to us, or wait for some big event where Mr. Mute the Blah-Blah tutor all of a sudden decides to speak after his 50 year silence.

Genevieve2007-02-14 22:29:11
I have denizens speak to me all the time.

New features:

- New plane (fire/air?)

- I've mentioned this before, but I think having one -ridiculously- strong denizen (as in, reasonably more difficult than a manifestation) would spawn on astral. It would be invisible, and to fight it you have to "Challenge mobname" where you'd be whisked into two room area with exits only available after one of you die

- Having combatstyle aggressive actually -do- something

- Re-open the Ethereal tree Aetherbubble.. please?

- New commands for the family system (or a new family system altogether) to make it user friendly and not a royal pain. I really plead for this one, and I know a lot of others do too. FAMILY DEEPBOND FAMILYNAME- this allows family members to have someone propose to them and marry into another family without becoming inactive in their birth family

- Any resistances -whatsoever- for trackers.

- New conflict
Genevieve2007-02-14 22:54:51
You know, I've heard some requests for a new plane. I think this can be handled without opening the Fire/Air planes. Why don't you let us have access to the cosmic plane from whence the serpents came from? More than one denizen suggested that the serpents came from an ancient, undiscovered cosmic plane, but nothing ever came of it.

edit: Double post thanks to the forum, but I'd like to take this opportunity to ask: What the heck is the ethereal tree aetherbubble, if I may ask?
Vionne2007-02-14 22:55:33
Something silly but that I'd love -- let us string (unenchanted) rings onto chains, or something like that.

Not sure if this would be allowed, but it would be fun -- amulet of aging. Subtract or add 10 years to your age. Could only be done once, only works if it won't violate family setups. It would be useful in the case of someone who maybe walked out of the portal, picked 16 because they figured they'd want to get adopted, but got married/sibling'd instead and now wants to have kids. Or vice versa. We allow reincarnation, why not this?

We have shot glasses and bottles. Can we get normal glasses?

Also, I loooove building. Building is about the only reason I log into my old IRE game *laugh*

I also -love- and desperately miss AB SKILL FULL. It's so much easier than going to look at the Scrying Pool.

You would think that Trackers would have an all-around elemental damage, poison, and even cutting and blunt, just from dealing with the world at large. Leave them without resistance to Asphyxiation, Psychic, and Magic, but give them something called..um..."Adaptation" as their trans skill, which is like a second level of weathering, where you get +10-15% hp while in non-urban environments, and 15% resistance to Fire, Cold, Lightning, Poison, Cutting, and Blunt.

Organisatorial quests that do -not- annihilate another org but rather are just about gaining a benefit for yours.

Example: Do quest xy and beat super-boss-mob-of-d00m and get a special item. Put that item up in your city. As long as your city holds the item every member of the city gets a certain benefit (like 5% to max health etc, or slight damage resistance, or exp bonus, or level 1 regeneration, or additional power gain or anything else you can think of). They keep the item until another org gathers a group and does the quest / kill the mob.. whatever.

EDIT: It would basically give people something to compete over that does not include forcing others to defend maybe for hours on end when they wanted to do something else (like raiding does for example).

Actually yes it would. Reason being, people are greedy, and like to have bonuses, eventually treating them as the norm. Thus, it becomes a competition to hold questobjectXofD00M and taking it away from a given org can be construed as hurting them.

A better way to do it in my opinion would to have questobjectXofD00M be transient, i.e. it only stays with an org for x amount of time, but is more like a blessing upons the city/commune and thus there can be plural of them. Y'know, something like seeking out gnomish inventors to craft a device that amplifies the light from the Star of Celest, acts as a neurostimulator for the necromentate, black napalm for the Flame of Glinshari (ok, maybe not quite that, but seeing as how this is the only one I haven't seen myself, it's the best I can come up with), acoustic amplifiers for the Drums of the Dead... stuff like that.

Oh, and I still want shop logs and a better system of handling shop allies rather than just giving shop perms to personal allies. Perhaps adding a special gemstone to said person's key that enables shop powers for them? Please?
Shamarah2007-02-14 23:07:21
Clearly the amplifier for the Drums would be Glumki accompanying them by playing death metal on an electric guitar.

I second the idea for having more engrossing PvE combat, even if it's just aesthetic. Also, would it be possible to expand on the current planes? They would be cut off from the raiding areas and would exist solely for hunting and the sake of existing. Maybe an alternate planar reality, e.g. a tainted Celestia or a pure Shallamar (not the same place as the newbie intro of course... no bashing newbs!)
Ildaudid2007-02-14 23:21:53
Things I would love to see.

A larger variety of snakes, probably on aetherbubbles that have different venoms to them.

New Venoms

Tracking giving some new skills -------- Like certian defense buffs (elemental, blunt, something), another stackable venom defense, bond scent - which would be the tracking equivalent to scent. Noose, or something when you are flying or in the trees over an enemy that to can wrangle him up into the air and asphyxiate him in a noose until they writhed, and dropped to the ground, giving a chance to break one or 2 limbs.

New archtype/skillsets, preferably a darker more sinister style. Some form of Assassin like guild which combines stealth, damage warrior combat (which is really needed back in Lusternia), tracking skills, bardic skills, NO platemail for these guys, max would be chain at a dex cost or something, or not being able to perform some skills. But mainly leather based, stealthy, espionage, damage warriors, that use dexiterity more to afflict wounds and damage. Including a skill like Phase for them, which they can stalk, not be seen by anyone even when scried (except by others who have phase) cannot attack in phase, unless they are attacking another who is phased too....

Nil lords and Supernals being truely balanced out so that one group isn't stronger than the other when it comes to attacking them.

More bashing zones, on prime, secret bashing areas on earth, water, etheral (including glom, seren and faethorn) for higher level bashing. (Similar to the Spirit Plane)

Damage Warriors returning, it is so sad to see that all Warriors end up being forced to be wounding warriors, we have no speed/damage warriors at all anymore.....

Bah those are just some ideas ohmy.gif

Hmmm, I think I will work on the plot board for an introduction to a darker side of the basin, something such a city of Kethuru worshippers or some other dark seed. (A great place to introduce an assassin type archtype where a warrior from a guild would have to visit these people perform a task, seal the deal to gain that skilltype, and learn from some trainer there)
Genevieve2007-02-14 23:24:44
Can we finish fixing bards before we start on new archetypes? Plus, for each new archetype introduced is another guildhall that I have to figure out a way to explore! It's hard.

What's the spirit plane, and is anyone going to explain the Ethereal Tree aetherbubble?
Unknown2007-02-14 23:26:44
Spirit plane is accessed through Tosha, the ethereal tree aetherbubble was there for some event with Serenwilde and Glomdoring, I think, something about the fae leaving and then returning and yadda. There should be an events post somewhere smile.gif
Genevieve2007-02-14 23:28:33
So ok, then I have been to the Spirit plane. Got my ass kicked...

They already have new archetypes in the works, it may take years for them to come out, but I would like to nudge the archetypes they are working on in the "right" direction of evil, subterfuge, espionage, damage warriors halo.gif

That used to be part of a Faethorn quest. With a nut from -both- Commune Nexuses and a few other things I suppose you could return Fae in the Ether counterparts to Faethorn. People didn't do it, or want to, because it involved getting a nut. Which meant you either had to get someone in Serenwilde to do it, or managed to walk through to the Nexus with Pixies in tow and with the feathers and grab the nuts before you were enemied to your opposit.

Spirit Plane is connected to Tosha.
