Not weird, thats what urls are for. So you don't have to know the IP of everything.

Is it weird that I didn't have to change anything and Zmud found the new location of Lusternia itself or, something odd like that?
Not really. I'm not entirely sure how networking works, but when a program tries to connect to lusternia.com, somehow it uses that to look up the IP address, and actually connects using that. The host name is just an easy thing to remember that routes it to the IP. For some people, the change took longer for clients to recognize than others. Like I said, I don't know how this works in any detail, so I'm not sure why some clients would get it right and some wouldn't.
Edit: Ninja'd

When you change an IP address for a domain name, the DNS servers (basically big directories that match up IP addresses to domain names, amongst other things) for all the ISPs have to update themselves with new information. That's why, when people buy a domain name for their website, it can take anywhere from half a day to a few days before it "works" for people in their area.

So basically, it depends on how often the ISP looks at the DNS servers, and how fast they are able to process that information?

Well, basically, anyone who connects to the Internet has to go through a "chain" of DNS servers. Usually, for personal users, this starts with your ISP (although companies may have their own DNS servers as well). Every time you type a domain name, this request is translated into an IP address via the information in your front-line DNS.
When someone changes or established a domain name, your DNS isn't going to know that, and the only way it will know that is by querying a higher-level DNS and getting information from it. How often this happens depends on a number of factors, including how many people use that DNS (more people = more requests = more discovery of inconsistencies).
But, yes, it all basically boils down to when the DNS you're most directly connected to receives the updated information, and there's not really a set way to predict that, especially since it partially depends on when the DNS further up the chain gets updated, and it gets its info from another one even further up the chain, and so on and so forth.

zmud normally does not log in on the ip adress, but rather on the www.lusternia.com:23, so it got redirected as soon as the isp was changed.

The Celest theatre, and I think the other orgs' theatres, all already have a concealed backstage room, so that could be used.
The Spiritsinger's backstage area is not concealed, it's one of four rooms that are accessible publicly (two different "stage" areas, an entrance, and the backstage area). The rest of the guildhall is above (not below) the backstage area (up in the trees).

Oh, Riding also needs to be revamped and Lusternia'd.
Totally agree with that. Lots of posts about riding are around, points have been made, etc etc. Think it really needs a good look at.

Specialization races for Bards please? Viscanti Bards are so.. just.. bad. I'm not even one and it pains me.

What I'd like to see is some minor racial rebalancing. Reduce Viscanti sip a bit, alter Tae'dae so they are viable (speed them up but lower some of their bonuses, or introduce some warrior spec / skillset where speed doesn't matter for certain skills, similar to psionics), give remove the dwarven balance penalty, speed up igasho a bit (I think?), and so on.
And while you're at it, give Igasho racial mountaineering : P

We don't like rouge's here. They cover things and are usually an ugly red.
I am not an ugly red color
Chade2007-02-16 00:52:34
Just to go back to what Shorlen said... A look at a few of the races wouldn't go amiss, Viscanti sip penalty needs looking at, Dwarves could do with a once over too. Oh and how about critical hits for Influencing?

You have dealt their ego a CRUSHING CRITICAL blow!
You have made a viewpoint OBLITERATING CRITICAL argument!
You have made a LIFE-CHANGING point!

I actually don't think influencing should get criticals. It is way too low-risk for a fairly high reward.

Yeah, because it's not like you lose exp or anything. *non crown winky smiley*

You don't, no, unless you're an idiot or are being careless.

No, because you can get aggro/teaming mobs, or afflicts that stop you moving properly, or nastier attacks than usual like that really vicious one the bulls have...etc. Influencing is tame.
Acrune2007-02-16 03:03:11
Influence is push an alias that influences one mob, or even an alias that influences everything in the room, then you wait until done. Hunting takes a little more skill and there's actually risk involved. Crits aren't needed in influence.
Exeryte2007-02-16 03:07:41
I want...to know what happens if a demigod loses an influencing battle...
Richter2007-02-16 03:27:21
So we need harder and more complicated mobs to influence.
