I think I'm going to buy this, but I have a quick question: How well does it work in areas that have a lot of rooms with the same name? I had my own map before, and places like the Inner Sea were a nightmare trying to move through using an Imap.

It still has the same issues, but really that only exists in places like Inner Sea or Great Starry Sea, etc. The command is LMAP with larquan's lmts2, so you can still just "map" and see where you are on the serverside map. Having speed paths for absolutely everywhere in game game and having to use "MAP" occasionally is still far superior in my eyes.

The Inner Sea and Sea of Despair are intentionally not even mapped, so the mapper will just walk around them instead of confusing itself trying to go through them. (The only unfortunate side-effect this has is that you can't speedwalk to any locations in the middle of the seas, ie. Spectre Isle.) The Great Starry Sea is mapped but the map isn't really going to help you very much. Same goes for the Mountains of Madness (well, I THINK the mountains are fully mapped. That area is confusing as all hell so actually it's possible that parts of it are wrong but it really doesn't matter anyway because of those earthquakes).

Well, with the server side map that was added, that seems reasonable to me.

I'll probably send you a PM about buying when I get home and get LMTS set up. Is there something special I have to do to get this to work with LMTS 2.0 that Zarquan's thread is about?

For it to work with LMTS, just call the map file LMap and load it up.

I know this is a necro, but what's the command to get MudBot to reload the IMapper? Unfortunately, it's not just the `unload command with `load...

On a side note, anybody have an updated map? Or, is Shamarah still around and updating it?

MAP LOAD? (or LMAP LOAD, if you're using my LMTS 2.0, but the feature was broken by Whyte somewhere along the way)

Haven't heard of any updated maps, and Shamarah is most definitely not doing it.

No, anything beginning with MAP is invoking the in-game map.

And I think I'm still on the Imperian MTS system...
Saaga2009-01-23 09:24:00
Aww. I would be willing to pay for a working speedwalking map if anyone is interested...

It's case sensitive, too. Forgot to mention that. Try 'map' instead.

I actually still sell it and have sold a few copies recently but it's probably horribly out of date by now.
Saaga2009-01-28 13:45:30
Yeah, I once bought it too.
