Okay, I must be missing something here but why is it such a horrendous idea to communicate OOCly about something like this? It has nothing to do with "message everyone oocly if you want to do anything rp" and when you say that you are simply exaggerating the idea to ridiculous proportions in order to invalidate it.
I don't think anyone said that communicating OOCly is a horrendous idea. The only arguments against it that I've made or seen are that it's not something that's required, and people shouldn't be condemned for not doing it. OOC communication can be great, but it's not a player's responsibility to do this when something like this happens once and is roleplayed out (ie: this situation). I know that personally if I ever do something that's not so friendly and I have my doubts about whether the other person understands why, or is upset, I'll contact them (and have done so in the past). But like you said yourself, you can't read people's minds, and it's a two way road. If I don't know someone's deeply, OOCly pissed off/upset at my actions, and I don't think I did anything that was close to bullying or that would drive them off, why would I feel the need to make sure they're okay. That's really all my point is about.

This belongs in rants now Chop, chop, Shiribot.
I'm not sure if we've ever interacted, or if I was involved (if this happened the 19th, then nope - first time in weeks I did not play, I think). Most of the points I wanted to say have been brought up, and given the fact Aiakon appears to be the antagonist in this situation, you probably aren't too open to hearing our opinions on him unless they agree with your own. I would like to point out I've spoken with him on MSN and dealed with his character as a slow, lazy Apprentice, and he really isn't so bad - maybe not an angel , but he is certainly a decent person in real life. As for IC, his family is from a Great House, and citizens keen on RP respect them greatly.
To tell you a story of when I was first playing, Jeisha (I've told this so many times, so the rest of you can move on )...
I had a young Nihilist. He was never involved in raids, only defended. He was polite to enemies, and did as he was always told by his superiors, even when they insulted or threatened him. Compared to Reiha, he was rather passive and quiet. He wasn't even vengeful when he was killed in Celest for WALKING AROUND. With a demon, though, I have to add (I was still fresh out of novicehood and was still a noob - just with high skills - I mean sheesh, I thought you had to type everything out!!). And while doing my usual thing, grubbing, which I just can't avoid OOCly for some reason, Narsrim, Malicia, Thoros, and Munsia raided Earth. They summoned me, I died, tried to get away, died and was last rited. I was rather irite OOC - thinking, wtf, what did I ever do? Did I raid them? No. Did I ever disrespect them? No. I was ready to quit the game, despite spending a lot of money I shouldn't have.
But I took a step away from the computer screen, and realized, hey, it's just a game. That's just their characters, doing what their characters think is right. (Although I have to admit there are some issues with this, as with any other game.) And, those names I mentioned - the ones I've had a chance to get to know, I ADORE THEM, especially Mali and Thorhoes One is in Mag now, but they're nicest and funniest people I know. What they did was not personal OOCly and it was not done to stroke their ego, and once you get a chance to cool down and look at things, you might realize you could miss out on friendships you never expected to make (OOCly and/or ICly).
If you ever want to start up again, in Mag for some reason, give Reiha a holler. I try to play good cop when I can, or bad cop when need be, depending on the situation. But I think as others have suggested, Mag's "harden up " attitude might not be right for you. Once you get past that though, it can be a wonderful RP experience, one you will relish. And, you can always rise through the ranks, trying to reform Mag society. While I'm sympathetic to what happened, some new people have had similar or worse experiences, but did try and give it another shot If I gave up on the game then and there, I would never had made Reiha, who's not a serf anymore to say the least And I wouldn't have met my lovely Ildaudid
Okay, I am done rambling now

Am I the only person who has managed to make a pacifistic Magnagoran that hasn't had a bitchfit at one stage or another? I think the closest my alt got to fighting was debating people.
laeric2007-02-21 14:34:40
Is that Deadpool as your avatar?
Unknown2007-02-21 18:52:03
I'm pretty sure it is, he used to have a signature banner to go along with it was well, that is, before he became Murphy's protégé.
Asarnil2007-02-21 23:27:49
Yep, its Deadpool, though I am thinking of changing my theme to The Darkness - its a comic by Top Cow and I've made a seriously kickass sig for it. Or I might just dig up the old deadpool sig and put it back up.
Unknown2007-02-22 01:21:40
Good your current sig sucks. That clown has got to be British.
