Personally, I would love it if Artisans, or possibly Bookbinders, could make clipboards allowing the holder to write letters and scrolls, possibly pamphlets, without a desk, but not journals, books, or anything thicker. I'm not sure if there's much point in having designs for clipboards, but others may feel otherwise.
Also, it would make so much sense if Bookbinders could craft sketchbooks. These would be small, maybe 10-15 page books, and each page would act like a sketch sheet. SKETCH PAGE OF BOOK, or something. And it should show you what you have a sketch of on each page upon PROBE, and you could rip pages out, which would then act like individual sheets. The book altogether would have a long decay time, or maybe even non-decay, which would give it an advantage over making single sheets. It would maybe be made out of multiple sketch sheets, or just wood comms, with maybe 1 of cloth, for the binding.
While we're on the subject, bookbinders need some love. Bring on the lovin' ideas, guys!

I think the clipboards sound like a good idea, considering there are alternate ways to send mail (by pets and so on). I wish it could be for journals, actually, but you're right, that doesn't make much sense.
Sketchbook page is interesting...could make nice gifts, to sketch people.
I still think we should be able to craft letters before all this, though.
