I'll keep former's Viravain vote for now. You all look more or less equally scummy, but I don't get why everybody is jumping on Shamarah now, inactivity? I am a bit surprised about how fast people stopped targetting Linwe after she said a lot of strange stuff about not roleclaiming because this will make stuff more fun and to wait until she's dead. Then I guess we're all a bit without any data to make informed choices.
Complicated. My head hurts.

Most of us voted for Shamarah while he was still being more active, and - to some of us, at least - he seemed scummy. He was demanding people make reasons for doing random votes, which doesn't really make sense.
Also, this is just getting silly, as Diamondais said. What will we do if the deadline hits and we still have a tie?

Vote: Verithrax. You have been on every major wagon today, you were overly vocal about wanting to lynch someone long before the deadline was close, which is disastrous for the town as we need all the information we can get, especially on the first day, and at the merest hint of collusion between you and Daganev, you immediately jumped on his back to vote for him to somehow "prove your innocence".
Verithrax2007-03-17 23:18:12
Does it occur to you that I would rather we got on with the night already before the mafia managed to implicate some innocent, because I have reasons to want a quick nightfall?

Aaaagh, sorry sorry... been too long since I posted. My new job has me working hours that I'm still not used to yet and because of that and my general schedule being all thrown off by it and having hours that aren't the same each day is making it hard to settle into a rhythm that lets me bother too much with the computer. I'm hardly managing time on Lusternia.
And yes, Verithrax... that did rather occur to me, I made the comment a while ago.
Iridiel - I don't know how that what I said was so strange, that's just me and all my honesty. Part of what makes the game fun (from what I can see) is the mystery - not knowing that if the person that you're voting to lynch is in fact on your side, and for those who are 'scummy', trying to edge suspicion onto someone that they want lynched without really implicating themselves. If all the mystery is taken out by a roleclaim, I see no reason to play at all. Sure, people could be lying... but for those that are forced into a roleclaim and did so honestly, I can imagine that part of the fun of the game would be taken away. And if that person was indeed telling the truth and does get lynched, when their death is posted, there's no element of surprised for anyone else. Maybe a 'whoops, they were telling the truth, oh well' kind of moment, or a brief triumph if someone that they would want lynched is lynched. But the surprise and mystery would be gone. I know that's what keeps me coming back.

The I'm taking a stab at this and hope I have it right vote count!
because... it seems to have been a few days since the last
Verithrax (4)- Asarnil, Diamondais, Linwe, Iridiel
Shamarah (3)- Daganev, Requiem dot exe, Ytraelux
Daganev (2)- Verithrax, Okin
Linwe (2)- Mirk, Othero

The town has nearly no reasons to want a quick nightfall on Day 1, and if there is one that does, they really shouldn't be stupid enough to come out and say it like that.
Iridiel2007-03-18 01:52:43
@Linwe: Ok, I think I get it. Then, I don't think people will believe your rolecall anyway just because, usually people look for more clues or investigate at night or try something. Unless you say you're Elvis in wich case I'd vote to lynch you just in case it's catching
@Verithrax: I don't see any reason to look for a quick first night. There's no claims, so you cannot "verify" anybody, and investigating people innocence without any claim is just luck so it would be better to wait until somebody claims or gives some clue about themselves. Killing mafia at night without any clue (unless you have seen something nobody else has in the past messages) about who's mafia sounds... risky. Anything that forces a death without giving us more information (and even the lynching might not give us information depending on the game setup) I fail to see how can it help the town. Please explain yourself?

If there is an Elvis role, I'll bet he doesn't die. Or he does die, but he still gets to vote or something.
@General audience: I'm really not sure why everyone stopped voting for Linwe (which I said when I switched my vote) but as I've said before, random votes have no weight, so I switched my vote to the other suspicious person who actually had some votes for him. The town during the day only has influence in numbers.

I'm bored, this was going nowhere fast, and I made what was essentially a knee-jerk reaction. This is day one; relevant information on whether people are mafia or not simply does not exist, claims are impossible to verify, nobody seemed to be moving towards making a claim, so we might as well get a move on, since all we'll ever have to go on are people's claims anyway.

People started unvoting Linwe as it turned out there were other people who were seemingly more dangerous than her. Also, youjuped back on Linwe's bandwagon simply because some other people had jumped off, which seems kind of stupid, IMHO. There isn't really much point in voting just for the sake of having someone to vote for when it's late enough in the day that there are plenty of suspects.
Unknown2007-03-19 03:04:56
Just to clarify, I didn't ever "jump off the bandwagon" in the first place. We were one vote away from lynching Linwe, and I Unvoted to prevent someone from unintentionally killing her before she had a chance to speak. Then someone else unvoted before she roleclaimed, so I voted for her again. It may appear that I was jumping on and off of her bandwagon, but I was really just trying to stop a ninja-lynch.
And I'm with Verithrax. Someone needs to die. Can we please kill someone already?

In the interests of keeping this moving, I'm setting a deadline.
You have 96 hours from this post to make a decision. Whoever has the majority of the votes at this stage will be lynched. A no lynch will occur if there is a tie.

Vote: Shamarah because voting for Linwe isn't going to get anywhere, and Verithrax, to me, seems less scummy.

It really does help to unvote first, you're supposed to.
Also, again, don't mean to lurk. Just busy with stuff RL and IG.
It does seem weird that Shamarah is still not voting, what's up Sham?

I feel he has been pushing for Shamarah for a while and is covering it up with this "let's just kill" attitude

What? Five minutes ago I was voting for Daganev, before that Linwe... and now I've been pushing Shamarah from the start? What the hell are you smoking?
ETA: Unvote: Shamarah; Vote: No Lynch.
Of course, voting for no lynch will suddenly become scummy as soon as I do it, but regardless of whom I vote for, I'll get accused.

I'm still playing. Yes, someone should die. I still think Daganev seems scummiest. He stopped talking as soon as he had a vote or two, which is EXACTLY what I did last game, when I was mafia.
