The skillset needs a lot of work, and some increased functionality, however, if we had something like this, I might take it over forging.
Kharaen2007-03-12 02:39:47
Mm, well, I wrote it over only a night >.>
I would likely give up Artisan and Moon to get this too. It'd be so neat to Wrangle.

I love it!! Woo! But Daga also does point out that pets cost 500 credits... which might clash with the trans wrangling ability...hmm

It's not dissimiliar to the fact that some people (Trill, Faelings, wiccans, guardians) can fly almost for free, while others have to pay credits for faerie wings... and look like faeries.
NOT inserting a stupid crowny smilie. I am not wearing a Whitemane's Chapeau.

I wore Dylara's faerie wings once and I didn't look like a faerie. Though they did look awesome on me.
Diamondais2007-03-12 18:46:00
Not to mention they can also be customized.
I just don't have the credits or.. any creative thought to do it. So faerie it is.

Yes, you did. PROBE them next time.

oh of course those looked like faerie wings, but I still looked like an Igasho.

I like anything that adds extra functionality to existing things and helps make the world more "real". Using existing creatures like this would be awesome.

Any Divine thoughts on this Hunting Tradeskill?

I like it but I think it's one of those "oooh great idea we can impliment after we've done x, y and z (plus the rest of the alphabet)" things.
Like giving me my damn bow
But yeah, before Hunters go wrangling, fix traps. For instance, Deadfall. Wha? Since when do I have the time to sit there and make an anvil? Granted, anyone who's ever tripped one gets the obvious reference, but it's a teensy bit unrealistic. And maybe letting Darts work in the trees? I'm a Transcendent Tracker but I can't figure out how to rig a trap in the trees? Come on. I like the recent improvements, and I appreciate the fact you guys deal with a lot of other problems, but show a lifetime-long Tracker some love.
*edit*
I FREAKING LOVE THIS IDEA!!!!!

well not really... if you decide for whatever reason you don't need your artifacts/skills for flight you can reclaim what you've spent on them where as a pet is 500 credits and well the quote below...
QUOTE
19.10.7 CUSTOM PETS
TRADEIN
-------
Pets may not be traded in at all - no tradein value, no refunds, no exchanges.
Be sure that you want any pet you purchase, because it will be yours for a very
long time!

to be a fair comparison to actual pets they wouldn't be able to reset to the owner under any circumstances, none of the tells abilities, same damage, no oacts, and initially/after death the companion would take a fair amount of time to actually get to a stage where it could leave the ranch or whatever. Again because if you spend 500 credits on a pet, you are never seeing them again whereas if you spend the lessons on this tradeskill you could have a custom pet until it was killed and reclaim atleast some of what you've spent. If some form of taming(imperian) abilities were added to the set though, I would love to see pets get an ability to learn those abilities(cost or no).

Lovely idea, I'd give up artisan for wrangling...

Since you're new we'll drop it, but it's generally considered courteous not to bump ("necro") months old topics without a good reason.
