My two cents: I didn't know we protected the Aslaran camp. I know we can't hunt them, but protect them?

Eh.. that's always an iffy translation from what you guys have. Remember also that Saaga herself is an Aslaran, so it complicates matters a bit more. There have always been those who hunted them and been attacked by Celestians for it.. usually those are Aslaran themselves. This is the first time I've ever heard of someone being -enemied- for it however. But whatever floats your boats.

Part of the lead up to the seren/celest war were incidents that started in the moors/bay, and spilled over into other areas. So yes, celest has been protecting them for a while, even if it's not official.

that's crap. Everyone knows only specific people "protect" them and they only do so when someone they already want to kill is in the area. I don't know a single person that vigilantly and unbiasedly protects aslarans or merians cause everyone knows Gloms hunt there often too and I don't see them dying to Celestians. It's pretty much just an excuse people use when they want to kill someone.

Oh, they do. Aslaran, at least. I don't think most hunt merian, and when they do, it's when they're sure they won't get caught by either Glomdoring or Celest.

You shouldnt call vengaence as was said for something like this. Then again enemying for her responding to
-your- actions and getting help is also wrong. You dont enemy because they try to get saved or protected. That enemy status should be voidable. Aslaran camp is an interesting decision to protect something as a side note... and which guild claims them? Or are their RP grounds? And dont try the they dont practice taint... Gorgogs dont Practice it either.. nor do astral beings.. or much else that are slain anyway.

However I am not here to judge or scold. But enemy status should be given for real reasons not because you are a tiny bit upset your attack got you killed and vengaence shouldnt be used when you earned it. I get suspect on people and they get it on me (ok not so much anymore) but no one uses it really. If you curse.. they can sit it out or cure it quickly enough... if you are truly worried you are better off keeping it so they will worry about attacking you.

Death is death learn to deal.. And yes I couldnt always Lich and I had to pray through Lich before.. and praying on Celestia can take a chunk (8% at the time). Go bash have fun and be free dont moan and groan about mistakes learn and move on whenever possible (unless by some odd coincidence its part of your rp).

Probably the system sees that:

Callus and Ixion declare meaning they are the oppressors, thus they got status and rendered Saaga's declaration to Kari null.

Or maybe Saaga never declare at all and she was just there standing and Kari thought she'd kill her, happened to me with Tharruk, I was just hunting right in front of him when he suddenly attacked me and I got accused for declaring which I did not during that time.

So yeah, the Avenger system is hard to understand sometimes.

I'm not going to really delve into your other comments, but as for these: Gorgogs are by nature a mixture of the four elements magics, and as such are tainted by at least the earth elemental magic, Marinus discusses this.

As for the Astral beings, they're very at least indirectly connected to Kethuru's influence on Astral and as such can almost be considered MORE than tainted. But, as I said, this is just an objection to a small part of your argument. Carry on then.

I thought Aslarans were in Shanthmark, and thus protected by Celest?

There are Aslaran in the Grey Moors, too. They're unaffiliated with any organisation and can't be governed.

If you're so concerned about it, your character should seek to tell someone who -will- care and raise a fuss out of it. You can always make a public post with names, calling those people out for investigation, and blame Celest for hypocrisy if they don't do anything. Irritating and annoying, but there will be truly Good people who stand up and say something.

If not, your character should turn the blind eye and go on with their lives.

I hunt Merians constantly, so I can make Merian fishcakes for Zalana

It's alright if it's just one or two in leadership positions who don't care or pretend not to know, but once you get to the third or the fourth, it starts to get pointless, so yeah, I just decide to let the merians die if Celest doesn't care so much. And yeah, I can get people to make fishcakes for me without such guilt.

If you had read my last post, you would see that I am not moaning about the experience loss or anything, I created this topic out of fear that it's a glitch. And since it isn't, I'm okay, I'll just eventually win back all the experience I lost.

Yeah Callus always have PK CAREFUL ON. I got the first kill and you "helped", and you got the second and I "helped." Defend is your friend.. I got no status or avenger from it.

As a for instance, guardian creatures don't count as part of status. If I were to hit Ixion with a wrathed angel, and then he beat the crap out of me and I never had a chance to do anything else, he would get status (found this account against Marlucia when he jumped me for participating in my first Nil raid when I was a novice. I tried to fight back, ineffectively). I think it would work for Wiccans as well. You could redcap someone to death and not end up with status. Avenger tends to err on the side of caution.

Just throwing my two cents in.

What I learned was that the Avenger was intended as a deterrant from sitting there hunting someone into the ground. Once or twice is fine, but just targetting someone many times is a bit bad for some points. I'm thinking it was brought about to stifle opposition saying "He's an enemy of my city, I just have to kill him." but also to placate the people complaining about being killed numerous times.

When Aiakon and co. killed me, I got the ability to call vengance on him. Why did I not? Why should I? I went to defend my city, I made a stupid mistake by not going prepared and stood too close to the gates and got beckoned. There was also that mishap with grace and all. I always forget about it. Blech.

Anyways, I was told that the Avenger is not a "Hey, he killed me twice. Now I can royally mess his next few days up for making me ruin three hours of work." It's more of a "He's been killing me all day, I just want to go walk in the valley without some nitwit killing me. Leave me alone or I'll call Avechna."

I don't know the fine points on how your Avenger works, I thought it killed your enemy and took away the exp they got from killing you. So assuming there isn't too much of a level difference, if you lose three hours, they lose four maybe ? How is that 'royally messing up his next few days' ?

If I recall correctly, they get peaced for awhile. I've heard some people have a very long peace time.
