You are bad person! Though whenever I'm honours-ing or even looking at you (when Sipelus decides to hold still IC), I keep seeing Human. Though I should've thought about changeself. Would've made it easier if people saw the dispel and didn't look at Denust the second time.
EDIT: And Faelings have godly Psionics, so I don't know why you'd get looks for that. (Sheesh, with 15 INT and 17 CHA with Netzach? Powerful Psion right there)

Unless you're using forcefield, int really plays a larger role in terms of mindblast damage (go go imperial merian).
Unknown2007-03-09 03:04:41
Note, I said "Psion", not Telepath. While PsiBlade damage is absolute there is always the Telekinesis. And karmic knowledge for 17 INT & CHA isn't Imperial Merian INT (And I am excluding Mr. Demigod with like 20 INT) it IS much better CHA. So even with Mindblast, you could be throwing out more attacks before sipping bromides. And you get the lvl 1 elix bonus with Faelings, so it would end up being damage vs. quantity.

Ha, I'm actually guilty of doing Human (OOCly for the exp bonus ) though I ICed to Lobo. Though I must admit, it's kinda hard to roleplay it right when people in Celest keep asking my why I did it like it's a crime to be a Lobo Aquamancer. Kinda sucks for my game now, but combat was never my thing in the first place (and I'm literally attempting to RAT to Titan-hood). Even in Achaea, my Occie's main methods of combat are:
ASTRALFORM -> runaway
HERMIT -> runaway
UNIVERSE -> runaway

I'm new to Lutsy, but actually picked Tae'dae because I was told not many people play that race and I wanted to be slightly different. I guess time will tell if I was right. I made the mistake in Achaea of switching from my original race to one more suitable for combat with my class and regretted it. Race is a big part of RP'ing your character

Sorry, I'm not Santar in Achaea. My (most recent) character there is a lot newer. My Achaean "graveyard" is bigger than for any other IRE game (i.e. suicided chars), partly because there are a bunch of s attacking/robbing newbies and the PK system is absolutely abused. The only reason I'm keeping my current is because he found family. That's the only was you can OOCly guilt me into staying!
And actually it was my RP that caused me to switch to Loboshigaru. Denust just didn't feel right being Human (and, on reflection, it didn't suit the kind of character I wanted him to be). So after a bit of soul-searching, I had him reincarnate. Though I kinda went in reverse, going from a mage-suitable race to one that has some people going (in Forren's OOC words: "You're tanky, but you're going to suck") And to be honest, I don't care, because that's Denust.
Though I will admit, Loboshigaru regeneration is absolutely insanely incredible. Roughly 300 hp (~10% for him?) regenerated a tic? Not sure, I haven't been hit that hard in a while to calculate it out.

Heh, some people tend to forget about changeself and go "Wtf, you're Tae'Dae, reincarnate to Merian!!1". Quite amusing to argue with them. I recently started abusing the glamour again, granted, only changing to races that'd be plausible for mages, still got some odd looks though *gasp* "Faeling!"
When I went from being an Aquamancer to a Geomancer (took twenty-thirty IG years, without a guild ) I always changedself into a merian, and since I had Aquamancy, I got to be an Imperial merian. I was actually a mugwump with a merian-inferiority complex, so I whenever I actually explained to people that I wasn't merian yet but then burst into tears, I got all sorts of fun reactions. The hard part was that I, as a player, actually wanted into the Geomancers at some point, so I eventually had to give up and admit that I was okay being a mud-person. I just don't tell them about my secret dreams...
Wait, what was the actual topic?

I said it for comedic value only, you can't be Santar, you had intelligent points in your post.
Edit - I'm a active thief in Achaea and although it can be used -very- easily to be a jerk, RP'ing a thief correctly can be very rewarding. I'm looking forward to seeing how PvP is done here
Unknown2007-03-09 17:10:37
Though the only reason I did that was because I was unsure of what you were trying to say.
Kinda off-topic, I prefer Achaean Tarot over Lusternia's Tarot. You don't have to be a Rajamala to fling cards with great speed, unlike Lusty's Aslaran. If I remember right, a few cards don't use balance and no Achaean race has faster eq recovery.

We can tell, sir Infamous. PK is a bit different in Lusty because Prime is pretty much protected. If you go around killing people on Prime enough, you're going to have vengeance called on you. You can always try stalking the planes, but some cities don't like you hanging around on the planes their nexus is linked to. (Provided you are a rogue, otherwise you get raids and raid defense 'n all that stuff.)
Oh, yeah. No more of this. Back on to whatever topic we were on.

Huh? You don't need to be aslaran to use tarot. I used it to great effect as a lobo Celestine, as did Amaru.

Not quite what I meant. Was just comparing that Rajamala were better balanced than Aslaran, and I only brought up Aslaran because I've read a lot of posts about Aslaran being very good for Tarot. Whereas most the other races mentioned (taurian, loboshigaru, mugwump, etc.) don't have that kind of balance recovery. In Achaea, none of the races are TOO imbalanced compared to another in eq or balance so you could play any race as a Jester/Occultist without having to deal too much with slower (comparatively) flings.
Which brings up another point: the way that certain races just absolutely rock at a certain profession/class. I seriously want to see a few fixes for some of the races (or nerfing).

You realize that balance penalties are only 75% as potent in Lusternia as Achaea, right? Your races are equally, if not more, imbalanced in terms of eq or balance.
Unknown2007-03-09 23:26:30
Too many furrikin. Sheddings everywhere. And the race isn't very strong from a purely mechanical choice.
Dwarves need some love. They are the worst race in Lusternia. Poor them. I know only three: Tully, Kurama, and Xanders (but he's inactive, sniff).
On the other side, Taurian are the best race in my book. Or at least the best for warriors. I wonder why there's so few of them.

Wrong, all Tarot flinging is racial balance based. Don't ask me how I know, but trust me. I'm 100% right. The only thing that is EQ based is Death Tarot rub. You should know this, having an Occie...
Stopping talking about Achaea, I came here to escape it

I don't spam Death Tarot, ok?
I knew there was just the one eq card, I just didn't remember which one it was!
And I was referring to Lusternia's Tarot flings not Achaea's Tarot flings when I was talking about balance. And yeah, I got confusing. So I stop now.

How do you explain all the Furrikin then?
Anyway, I don't mind being a Dwarf, because I like Dwarves. But then I'm not into combat.
Someone asked me the join a clan for dwarves, but I can't see Tully being a good "racial example" of a Dwarf, since he was too urbanized and is a little weird.
Keep in mind, Dwarfs are loved by IRE since all four games have 'em!

But seriously, stealing is frowned upon here by ALL guilds. Including the 'bad guys.'
Amarysse2007-03-11 05:21:46
Regarding theft, I suppose that's something I don't understand about Lusternia.
There are abilities that seem designed for theft, and to prevent it, and yet theft is nonexistent. If it's considered forbidden, as I've been told, why not replace these abilities with something more useful? Selfishness, for example, is one of the first abilities I learn in IRE games, out of habit, and I was informed it would be useless here.

It's not useless here. People with Pooka use the tactic to make people hand over any Fae they've influenced, it stops Vestiphobia from dropping things. It has its uses.
And theft is looked down upon here, not forbidden. Theft is just one of the things we mostly agree on shouldn't happen, that the Orgs can do far better things against someone than something like theft.
