If I wanted to roleplay a homeless drunkard beggar as an alt... is there anywhere suitable clothing (ie filthy cloth rags, etc) could be found? I remember from a LONG while back that cloth was more expensive than silk, but that was sometime last summer...
How much would beggar's attire set you back these days? The idea of roleplaying a drunken vagrant amuses me.

I would say buy some normal clothes, then have a tailor repair them a whole bunch until they are "tawdry." Granted, there's got to be some setting aside of RP while this goes on...but do it discretely and it could work out.

I mean that you would have to get the money to buy the clothes, then find a tailor who would make the clothes tawdry for you. You would have to toss aside RP while working on the mechanical aspects of your character, since it would be weird for a beggar to go out and buy normal clothes, then ask someone to rip them up and make them look crappy for you.

Buy cheap, tatty clothes and make them all covered with mud or something. Better, try to get as few clothes as possible. Skills in the Dramatics subset will let you act more drunk than you really are, and provide a small boost to Influencing.
Word of advice.... Magnagora doesn't quite chase out its vagrants. Might want to let a dog taste your soup before you drink it. I'm just saying.

Can you get stinky in this game, like in Imperian? That'd be a part of the costume if you can...

You can get stinky, yeah. Someone will have to skunk sray you or something, though.
Also, there's a design for some "stained boxers" (don't ask) so you could get a pair of those made, rather than having new ones designed.

There aren't really incurable diseases in lusty. I'm not gonna try to stop you, but.... well, prepare for "My RP goes this way" vs community flaming if you want to keep it up. Although the rest was good. Esp. liked it when Kel gave you some coins. The thanking made me laugh. Anyways, play a hobo, heck, play a hobo who always -gets- sick and you should be overall fine, but YOUR sake, I'd take a quick glance at the contrived RP thread for in idiots before you try the disease bit. Again, I don't mean to say "your RP is bad." I found the character amusing, but I want it to stick around, so I want to make sure you know what your headed for

I get tired of game mechanics trumping RP. There's a lot of Lucan's RP that just isn't going to work at all because of how game mechanics work. I should just quit MUDs and play a damned MUSH...

Well... if I said I had a broken CD ROM player in real life and you said "here's a replacement" and I said "no it's broken and can't be fixed!!" .... it doesn't make sense. You could always choose something that isn't cured via magic, or throw in a few other things. I think the taint made orcs weaker and feeble, right? Play a tainted critter that has a weakened immune system. You'd be constantly sniffling/sick, and when you get cured, half an hour later (12 game hours) your ready to be sick again! As for getting money? Easily fixed. Gambling addiction.
