How about... not being able to smelt things if you're wielding/holding them?

I don't forge helms or plate all that often, so the few times I do I always forget to remove my own first. Yes, I suck.

Oh yes please. Its annoying to smelt a plate that I am holding but end up smelting the plate I am WEARING. What did I do? Throw myself into the forge and emerge unhurt but with all the commodities?

It would seem that a fix would be to only be able to smelt something *in* the forge?

I found that to be rather odd. Shouldn't we have to put the thing we want to smelt into the forge? Makes sense to me.
