I don't know if you're agreeing with me or not, and I assume you were directing it at me.
I can't say that I disagree with what you have posted, but what I found laughable (or cry-able, I couldn't decide) about Asarnil's argument is that he claims quitting smoking is pointless because there are other common substances which harm the body as well. I sincerely hope that I don't have to explain why.
Perhaps you could clarify your stand?

Oh that was just a general comment/insight, not particularly aimed at anyone.

I've been learning and thinking a bit, and it is pretty clear to me now, that what is a choice for one person, could very well be a compulsion for another (i.e. addicted)
I find it a bit too simple to say fast food is a choice and cigarettes are not.
There are three people that I know of who quit smoking without any difficulty at all, and there are also some people I know, who stop smoking for 25 hours every week without even a craving.
Then there are plenty of people I know, who have a very hard time not eating their favorite pizza.

I love smoking...however...it's been making me sick these last couple of days. And I've heard some rather persuasive arguments.
SO. 12:11 am CST, today, I am quitting. Let's see how long I last.

I'm sure if you give us your address some of the community can figure out a way to help... by chaining you to your bed and taking care of your basic needs while we deny you any tobacco or nicotine.
EDIT: Basic needs: Feeding, watering, using and changing bedpans as neccesary, that kind of thing.

I must apologize for my childish mentality, but define 'basic needs'.
And thank you, but I'll do the bed-chaining. I can quit without that sort of help!
