Okay. I hate posting. But...this one's near and dear to my heart so here goes.
Anyone that knows me knows I'm trying to establish the family I'm in suitably. However, there's a difficulty. You can leave the portal at 16 years of age, all the way to 29. Yet, you can't be considered till you're 20. So some folks can be considered seconds after leaving the portal....others have to wait 4 years.
Now, in other IRE games, this makes sense. EVERYONE leaves the newbie intro at 18 years of age. But here, it's not the same. Does it make sense for the consider age to be at the same point?
Not sure. I don't think so...but maybe others have other opinions. Just wanted to hear a bit of feedback, see what y'all think on it. *wry*.

I didn't realize there was that limit. I always thought that they made the age range from 16 to 29 so that new players could start a family as soon as they started the game (provided they prepared beforehand, of course). 20 may be a bit long... I'd think 17-18 is a manageable age.

Seems like a pretty arbitrary rule and I'm not sure of the justification personally.

Problem is that still punishes those who choose to start at 16. If you can step out of the portal at one age and be considered instantly, why should ANYONE be restricted from that?

Oh right I understand now. Yes... why would there be a restriction like that... maybe a mechanic thing? *shrug* Allowing characters to be considered at 16 should be fine and makes sense.

Doesn't make sense to me either. Maybe it should be something like "you can't join a family until two IC years after your character is created" or something. I'm still very new here and I don't know the details of the family system here. But it doesn't seem right that some people should wait and others shouldn't, unless I'm missing something.

Yeah I think that rule is just a leftover. Just as some help scrolls occasionally refer to things that only exist in Achaea. Should be changed into something more fitting for the Lusternian start-between-16-to-29.
