Help writhe doesn't list impalement as one of the writhe types.. yet crucify seems to be of the impale type.
Cahur begins to chant in a deep and baleful voice, and an iron cross rises up
from the ground before you. Vicious spikes slam into your flesh and nail you to
the cross. You scream in pain and agony as blood is splattered in all
directions.
2064h, 2500m, 3014e, 10p, 9711en, 14200w exp-
You are no longer stunned.
2064h, 2500m, 3014e, 10p, 9711en, 14200w exp-
You bleed like a stuck pig upon the iron cross.
1644h, 2500m, 3014e, 10p, 9721en, 14200w exp-writhe
You begin to writhe furiously to escape from the iron cross.
1644h, 2500m, 3014e, 10p, 9721en, 14200w ep-
You have recovered balance on all limbs.
1644h, 2500m, 3014e, 10p, 9721en, 14200w exp-
With an heroic effort you manage to writhe yourself free from that which impaled
you.
Doing the writhing part of my triggerset now, so if someone can clarify it'd be appreciated.

Warm water showers down upon yourself, and you scrub all over until the oil on
your skin is gone.

Warm water showers down upon yourself, and you scrub under your armpits trying
to wash away the horrible ectoplasm.

ectoplasm, slows movement. need to scrub it off or use a cleanse enchantment.
as for the afflictions they are in one of the older announcements if you really wanan look through it

The first one (oil) is slickness which prevents the application of salves.
Rybosh2007-04-11 03:34:42
I was actually after how they were curing it, but I've found out since its the cleanse enchantment.

Eating calamus is cheaper.
Ashteru2007-04-11 13:14:22
Well, you can cure slickness with eating calamus, can't cure Ecto with that.

Smiling to cure disloyalty takes eq and mana, and requires the skill charismaticsmile in influence. The trans influence skill, charismaticaura, carries that one step further and renders the user immune to disloyalty, at the cost of a mana drain.
ETA:@Ashteru Well, yes. Alas, I may have read too much into the limited scope of the question.

And generally, you can also cure disloyalty by sipping love.
Rybosh2007-04-12 09:16:20
How useful are sixthsense and truehearing? Having to eat twice every time blindness/deafness is caused is getting expensive.
Vaerhon2007-04-12 09:29:35
Save truehearing for encounters with hostile bards.
Sixth sense blocks transfix - Sacraments has transfix. Jewelers, too. Your call, really, but transfixion is rarely a good thing.

The main part doesnt say you question on smiling has been answered. Smiling is after mockery.. and its called charismaticsmile. It is in influence
Malarious2007-04-12 11:01:28
EDIT: Screwy forums.. edited to remove the double.

Scrying pool says I can cure disloyalty by smiling. Can anyone do this or is it a skill thing?

You need CharismaticSmile in Influence.

I'm back after a couple of weeks away now. I had 3 more swords in my inventory when I returned from when I left.. did we have some sort of rollback in the last couple of weeks?

You sure you didn't have a few swords in a backpack or scabbards, that decayed?

Truehearing is good for all situations. Besides protecting against bards/bellow, it also acts as a buffer against sensitivity, and there's really no downside to it since no one can give deafness.
Sixthsense is more situational. It's true that you'll want it up against transfixers and duststorm, but otherwise leave it down or it'll eat up your herb balance against niricol users.
