It's being made by a Celestine. You think that'd be a bit grotesque for a follower of the Light.

You haven't been in Celest long enough. tongue.gif

It's a bit grotesque that a Tainty gets help from a Celestine. tongue.gif
EDIT: Lawl, backninja'ed Xavius.

Yes, backninjaing exists.

And seriously, NO. We already have furries, we don't need cyborgs.

That sums it up perfectly.

Yes, but I plan on paying lots of monies to Jasato.

If money is involved, you can always come to the friendly neighbourhood forger.

It would have to be something more like what Xavius suggested, just mechanics-wise-- for example, a blademaster would be able to slice your artery sending blood spurting from it, or pierce a nerve in the arm. If it was completely a metal one, these wouldn't make quite as much sense (though I suppose you could claim that some of the gears are broken).

Still-- if someone cuts your arm off, how would you explain APPLY REGENERATION TO ARMS restoring the mechanical one?

The arm is PARTIALLY mechanical - i.e. half-organic, half metal, and is only mechanical from the elbow down. Piercing a nerve or slicing an artery is easy if the upper arm is still intact.

Regeneration, of course, brings back your arm the exact way it was when it was removed. Else everyone would have very different looking limbs.

I would've thought it restores your arm to its natural state, but 'ey...

It would bring it back in its "natural" state, as Kromsh said-- regeneration regenerates the flesh. Scars have been explained as "wounds that have not only damaged your body, but damaged/frayed your very Thread itself"... thus, when regenerated / restored after death, such injuries still remain. However, I don't know of any way that a potion that regenerates flesh could restore a mechanical apparatus attached to you, and I don't see the Fates grabbing that apparatus every time you die and reattaching it to your body for you.

Damaged/frayed from my very thread itself.

The removed arm was a direct result of the reincarnation process. Tamper with your thread and that's what happens.

Granted, I'll probably have to keep a few spare arms if you really worship mechanics that much.

Regeneration is a salve, not a potion.

What does that last part matter? It's stuck into a vial, and it being a salve instead of a potion doesn't change anything in the "it can heal" category. Further, as I said, I see no way to actually make the mechanical part of the arm attached to the thread-- having your arm *removed*, on the other hand, could be possible due to the fraying of the thread theory. However, mechanically, that's not very plausible unless you immediately unwield the moment you're done praying for salvation / vitae / conglutinate, until you roleplay the attachment of a new hand.

And yes, you have to deal with mechanics as part of roleplay. It's possible to bend it slightly, or take the mechanics as OOC (specific wording, for example, can be interpreted differently by your character), but seeing someone without a hand wielding something in that non-hand is a bit of a problem.

I'm a Geomancer, I've no need to wield things, and once I get my staff, I'll wield that in the right.

Hmm. So you will go through life without using a shield? Interesting.

I don't plan on seeing any heavy combat besides the yelling contests of Nil raids, so no, not really.

Well, there's abilities that affect even the hand or wrist. So I'd suggest instead having a mechanical frame for the arm with flesh growing around it, with visible gaps and holes along the entire arm, rather then the more drastic half-and-half.

Let's not all forget the quandry of a lucidian fits into all these same situations, yet people just shrug it off and ignore it.

She is a fiendish master viscanti and stands at a height of five foot seven, her slim body covered in a fine, smooth
red-tinted skin. Her features are remarkably humanoid, long hair of soft violet falling to her waist, accentuated by
eyes of bright amber. Her whole body is thin and lithe, with a prominent bust. Her most impressive feature, is her
completely mechanical left arm. It connects to her arm directly above her elbow in a grotesque way, the flesh and muscle
almost literally melted to the platinum structure and the steel plating in a charred and burnt mess. The arm itself is
covered in faint glowing gems of ruby, onyx, and bloodstone at the joints of the elbow, wrist, and knuckles, and is
coated with a shimmering substance resembling a crushed powerstone. She is wearing a pocketbelt, a small hard leather
scabbard, a black leather gauntlet bracelet, a small hard leather scabbard, a set of mask prayer beads, a sleeveless
green midriff shirt, loose black trousers, and iron banded boots.

Well, that's how Jasato put it on.
