Hi everyone,
I'm looking to create a new secondary skillset and I'm putting out a call for ideas. Please give a general idea of the skillset with a smattering (as few or many as you want) of skills. At least two, please!
Please keep in mind the mythos of Lusternia. We also don't want anything trivial, such as "Dentristy". Sure, nice teeth are great, but we don't want a skillset dedicated to them.
Please remember that we'll need a bunch of skills in the skillset, and nothing that duplicates other skills. Oceanweaving could be fun, but we already have aquamancy, and it's a pretty limited/specific option.
This thread is about NEW skillsets. Not OLD ones. If there are bugs that are still outstanding, please BUG them. They are and will continue to be sorted out and fixed.
As always, please keep it civil and constructive.

What archetype is this meant for? (ie. should it be magic-based or physical-based?)
And do you want a list of skills to go in it or just a general idea?

1) Give me whatever you've got!
2) Yes.
Though in all seriousness, it's probably better to give just a general idea, but if you want to give a smattering of skills to to cement the idea, that'd be perfect.

And that was a fine demonstration of the Ialie Archetype. If you ever add Totems/Illusions specialization to it, it will probably be Sister Rainbow or some form of glamours.

Not exactly sure about what you want, but:
-Archery (yay!)
Craft: Craft bows and arrows with wood and various metals
Poisons: Apply poisons to your arrows
Eyeshot: Blind and shock your opponent with a shot to the eye
-Creation of explosives, acids, etc (similar to poisons?)
Blast Powder: Create a somewhat explosive agent, can be used in other things
Small Bomb: Use blast powder and iron, throw it at your opponent or leave it in a room to damage/break people/things
(Varying) Acid: using the corpses of (various animals), mix up a powerful acid (various afflictions)
Cocktail: Mix two potions and watch them react (dangerously)
-Drunken combatant (the more you drink, the more you can do)
Feint: Lean in one direction and strike in the other - hard to block, used one at a time
Clouded mind: Mental afflictions are less effective when you drink
Speech Mastery: No longer will you sould like a moron when you speak while drunk!
-Something that ivolves protection of others (guardians in the true sense of the word)
Block: Use your shield to parry for another - cannot attack as well (or something)
Diving Defense: Leap in front of your friend to prevent an attack from hitting them
Improved Defense: Shields (or less effectively, your body) can be used to block any attack, maybe like timeslip-for-balance
-Something with shapeshifting (turn into animals, maybe other races, or possibly just changing specific parts of the body)
Fly Shape: Transform into a tiny airborne insect and escape unnoticed, also gain incredible dodging abilities
Carnivore: Grow teeth and claws, BITE or MAUL
Equine Charge: Gain superior leg strength and sprint to knock over your opponent
-Something revolving around rage (barbarism, etc, possibly enraging of others/groups as well?)
Basic Rage: Temporarily enhance your health and damage/wounds and minor resistance to mind effects, but become fatigued shortly after (bad penalties ensue)
Battle Inspiration: You and your present allies go into a Basic Rage
Scarring: Through ritualistic scarring of your body, you have gained enhanced resistance to physical damage
-Unarmed combat (hate to say it, but it's an idea)
Uppercut: Swing your arm up at your opponent's jaw, dazing and breaking teeth
ArmBreak: Break opponent's arm and do some damage, prevent parrying for small amount of time
ShatterKnee: Similar to KneeCap or whatever, except done via a (non-op-amount) kicks to a leg
Figured I'd just throw things out there.
moar!
-Powers granted by the Soulless gods (anti-divine? Heh)
Chaos: Similar effect to Chary, uses eq time of throwing a hex
Visions of the Void: Become immune to fear and (some other similar affliction)
Warp: Afflict with a random minor physical ailment
-Abilities to turn mundane items into limited-but-useful items (for attacks, healing, etc, I dunno)
Bottleblast: Shatter a bottle or vial, causing temporary blindness and minor bleeding
Strangle: Minor asphyxiation damage with a pocketbelt, opponent must cure like a normal entanglement
Disgust: Eat an item of food then vomit all over your foe, causing stench and "shyness" (running away)
-Various benefits and abilities, depending upon which plane you currently are (neat idea, probably OP and/or useless)
Hard as Rock: Become unmovable and gain 10% resistance to physical damage on Earth
Commoner: Influence non-guard denizens on Prime slightly more easily
Misty: Gain minor dodging on Nil due to the mists
-Um...creating an entourage of useful beasties-- from your mind! (I don't know...)
MindBird: Create a carrier flying animal to deliver one item to someone
MindCow: Create one cow per day, to be used as cows are
MindDog: Create a one-shot dog to attach to your foe (as per Tracking)
-Be able to sacrifice one area to gain in another, or be able to do more offensive things (just a concept, haven't thought about if it's done already)
Tough and Stupid: 50% higher chance of succumbing to a mental affliction, minor poison resist, minor physical damage resist
Nimble: Minor dodging, somewhat minor health reduction
Witty Charm: Convert a portion of your mana into ego
-Ability to channel (minorly) all of the elements to do certain things (sort of like astrology, but not really?)
Flame: Cause your opponent to catch on fire, damage between normal fire and the telekinetic one
Quicksand: Acts as sap, removed by climbing, climbing takes less time with larger size
Flash Flood: Blast everyone in the room (inculding yourself) zero to two rooms away with a sudden link to Water, affected by size
-Creation of mechanical things (mundane or otherwise)
Mechanical Eye: Create a seeing device (using comms) and implant it - Immunity to blindness, lasts six months, 50% failure chance (with 500 bleeding!)
RoboHorse: Create a steed, varying in comms amounts by type of mount (IE mule-like take a moderate amount, legendary ones take a huge amount)
Super vial: Uses metal comms, has 1/3 more sips
-Archery (yay!)
Craft: Craft bows and arrows with wood and various metals
Poisons: Apply poisons to your arrows
Eyeshot: Blind and shock your opponent with a shot to the eye

unrelated-to-the-argument stuff

-Powers granted by the Soulless gods
Already wrong from an RP sense. Soulless gods want to devour all of Lusternia, and I don't think they'd care for mortals enough to give them powers to help that cause along. Plus, you know, the whole incident with the Vernals and Lord Ayridion keeping Kethuru at bay, I don't really think he'd be inclined to help us...

You're a soulless god. You're trapped somewhere unpleasant. You can't get out. You might consider giving a few mortals a couple of transient powers in exchange for being released and a chance to eat everything. I don't think it's as write-off-able as you're making it seem.

Granted, but is it worth it, on the part of the mortal, to gain the powers when you know you'll be backstabbed and tentacle raped once Kethuru is free?

Fain thought so.
For all you know Fain and Raezon did learn a few things from them, and decided to teach them to tainted folk.

That's for the admins and each individual character to decide.

Riding needs new skills
discipline needs more skills
Can someone write up a list of all the skillsets and which groups have options and which groups do not? For example, I am pretty sure that we don't need more knight weaponry skills.

Secondary skillsets. A skillset of the secondary nature.
At Ialie:
At everyone else:
Please include a smattering of skills in your ideas. Doesn't have to be many. We're getting a bunch of vague ideas that probably wouldn't pan out well, unfortunately.

I keep thinking of some sort of Beastmaster skill where you can gain control of non sentients and have them do things for you. (ratting, fight with you and so on.)
The higher your skill in Beastmastery the stronger you can make your beast.

oooh.. me likes
Athletics is to keep the body fit, but the new one could be to improve fighting through magic items. Maybe giving us Warcries... Expand a little bit the body paintings instead of just painting our faces... using special trinkets, like masks to improve their speed or power... a warrior more inclined to the mystical ways rather than just empowering the body through rigorous training... This would be means to achieve our buffs we normally get out of athletics, costing comms perhaps and less power, but still having enough resistances a normal warrior has but achieved via different pathways... An Arcane warrior perhaps.. this could mesh perfectly with the idea of having magical runes on weapons and expand it a little bit
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPRTo9CGZCQ
the last scene of Bleach(epsidoe 122) show us how mask could be like
EDIT: Expanding a little bit
Arcane body paintings... Painting over the pectoral of the armour or even the skin to improve special stats, like Con or paintings over the arms could give us more Dex... using comms to make masks, or charms in order to improve our chances to land a desired affliction or even giving a +1 to balance.. making some warriors even possible and opening up more functionability for slow warriors... Tae Dae Stag serenguard with a balance mask
