Ildaudid, your reasons for not implementing vision don't make sense to me. It's like saying Celestines shouldn' be able to fly because someone bought arti faerie wings. Or that geomancers shouldn't be able to burrow because someone bought a rockeater's maw.

The problem with dreamweavers is that there's really no way to stop them from doing things. You can try to violet them but that won't kill them because they can just move away. The downside of that for the dreamweaver is that since they can't be stopped, their skills have to be made worthless. So then you decide that you'll just use the dreambody stuff to spy and then aren't able to see what denizens are doing or saying. Yay.

You're all focusing too much on the example ideas that I posted, compliments of Shorlen.
Shamarah, I like that idea somewhat. Could open possibilities, and clearly isn't overpowered. I would like to see more posts like that, with less focus on the specifics of the example. This is really just a brainstorm thread (in intent, anyway). I do appreciate all the interest it's gotten though.

A few comments on the Casting idea that I had on the wiki (and looong since removed, though I guess you could still see it in the page history):
Estarra has rejected EVERY SINGLE runes suggestion that has ever been made since the game was released, to the best of my knowledge. I could be wrong. He simply doesn't see the need for runes to be changed, nor does he agree with anyone else's views of what the skillset should be like. He believes that, because Hexes is a PvP-only flavourless supportless skillset, and Hexes is fine as is, Runes does not need to change from being a PvP-only flavourless supportless skillset.
I'm not saying this is a bad view, only that I disagree. The only reason Hexes is as popular as it is, is that not only is it significantly more powerful than Runes (especially at giving masked afflictions), the other alternatives for Wiccans are: Healing, which is equally flavourless, but worthless in combat, and Astrology, which is all flavour and no substance. Nihilists never take Hexes, as Tarot is just as useful in PvP (if not more useful), and yet has both flavour and support.
Those who can take Runes have as their other options: Dreamweaving, which is just as potent in combat (far more so for druids than magi), and has flavour and a tiny bit of support (Control ftw!), Ecology, which is just as potent in combat (more in group combat than 1v1, but still), and has flavour and support, and Psionics, which is far more potent in combat, and has a lot of support, some flavour, and most importantly, an instakill which magi seriously need from their tertiary.
The problem with improving Runes offensively is that, though it is worse than useless for magi and blandly mediocre for Hartstone druids, the way it synergizes with a Blacktalon demense would make it absurd for a Blacktalon druid should the offensive nature of the skillset be strengthened. Forren and I tried to think up ways to improve runes offensively for magi without effecting druids, but we couldn't think of a thing. For it ever to be useful for magi, it needs an instakill that's easier for magi to pull off than druids. I couldn't think of one that fit. It's hard to think of an instakill that doesn't synergize absurdly with Sap, other than doing what Elryn did with Thornrend, and make them completely mutually exclusive, and that would be kinda silly/nonsensical for a runic instakill.
The intent of the Casting Effects was to add flavour and support to the Runes skillset, as I felt that was the primary thing runes was missing for druids. For magi, they need flavour and support, but more than that, an instakill. That was going to go into the report as well, but wasn't there due to lack of ideas, not lack of knowing it was needed. I gave up on the report though when Estarra more or less said forget about it, nothing major will change. The most we were to suggest was slightly different afflictions for runes, and that wouldn't have solved any of the troubles with it, so I just let the matter drop, and all of my hopes of making the skillset worthwhile. After speaking with some other Envoys, I came to the conclusion that the best idea was to simply forget the skillset existed and focus on improving Dreamweaving and Ecology instead.
The ironic thing is that I heard later that Imperian added skills very much like the "casting effects" that I suggested to their version of Runelore, and it made their version of the skillset actually useful and interesting. Their effects though were far more powerful than the ones I had suggested, and also tons of PvP effects in addition to support. Oh well.
And Ildaudid, the suggestion for Runic Vision was where Estarra got the idea for the artifact =P I had the proposal submitted in an Envoy report just before the new artifact autions, and he rejected the Envoy suggestion, but put the effect into an artifact instead. It made me sad =(

Just the thought of vortex/anti-health circles in Lusternia makes me shudder.

The synergy for a Hartstone would be significantly higher. Leaps and extremely frightening bounds higher. You've just never had a runic fighter.
I want stomp.

Stomp is...
Its just so darn beautiful.
