And, how are they going to unite the different threads in another "save the world" kinda ending, with just one episode left? How does Monica's plight have anything to do at all with what Peter/Adam/Hiro/Matt are doing? And then what about the Sylar plot?

My guess is that they'll separate Season Two in two parts. Season Two part 1, Season Two part 2. As for Entourage's third season. I just don't see how they could unite the different storylines in one episode.

Actually, its been stated that there are going to be 3 seperate arcs for Season 2.

When the strike was announced, Kring or whatever his name was, rewrote the episodes, to condense it.

However, all 3 story lines are allready connected. The company releases the Virus because of Adam. Claire's dad is now in the company as a prisoner, and Sylar will be the one to convince Mohinder that the virus is a good thing and so they won't stop Adam. So at the end of the last episode, all three plot lines got connected.

Is that a Spoiler of something that hasn't aired yet? Or are you extrapolating (however that's spelled)? err.gif
Daganev2007-11-28 22:28:28
extrapolating / theorising.

The scene where Bob tells Mohinder that some people are too dangerous is followed directly by Sylar killing the brother, or some other similarly nasty Sylar scene. Thats what made me think that during last episode.

Ah! Cool. Your story tie-up theory hasn't tied up the Nikki angle with her being in New Orleans and her kid and Monica out getting in trouble and all that though.

I'm hopeful that the stupid strike will end and there will be a part two to season two. Mostly cause of how othewise the season's waaaaaay too short. sad.gif Stupid strike.
Daganev2007-11-28 22:57:45
oh right, ... new orleans... even in fictional life I forget about new Orleans (sorry bad joke.)

anyway, Mohinder is on his way to new orleans to "heal Nikki from the virus" So that is tied in as well.

But he isn't...he's going to rush back home and save Molly, isn't he?

And besides, isn't there a pic of the former Dr. Suresh on the back of the book? And doesn't Mohinder -not- look like his dad? Maybe Sylar's going to use his illusiony power? Hm...

Wait, what? Sylar doesn't have any illusionary power, does he? confused.gif
Zalandrus2007-11-29 02:32:32
...oops...you heard nothing from me!

But wait, you've been watching, haven't you? (as evidenced in your responses above)...think back to what happened in relation to him earlier this season
Navaryn2007-11-29 02:35:59
Sylar doesn't have illusionary power. He seemed to have lost his ability to 'absorb' other people's power as we've seen in the first few episodes.

Yeah, that's what I thought!
Unknown2007-11-29 05:28:25
Well, it can also be that the power is just half suppressed, i.e., you can absorb, but you can't actually use it.

I think it's all the way gone... I mean, he said as much to Maya's brother.
Xavius2007-11-29 07:41:02
Maybe he absorbs whole lives instead of just powers, so instead of dying, he loses a power. Or powers, depending on how many times over he should be dead.

That's actually not a bad theory, given that he's been shot up and lived before, despite not having stolen a healing power.

Though, the preview for the next episode says "A Villian will rise" and it shows Sylar starting to use telekinesis again, so I wouldn't say his powers are gone. We'll just have to wait and see if he has the illusionary powers in Season 2.2

I don't see how Xavius' theory makes sense. As far as I can see, all the signs pretty much point to him using his intuitive aptitude ability to see how the brains of people with the powers "work", and mimicking what he learnt for himself. He even put on those watchmaker's glasses of his when he looked at Brian Davis's brain.

Except that for that to happen, he'd have to change his own DNA, so there's definitely more to it than "learning". Its been established that the Heroes powers are genetic, so Sylar is able to change his DNA, which would also allow for the possibility of celluar regeneration in the form of a rewind. Like, when he's on the verge of death, his DNA reverts by one change, keeping him alive but also taking away one power.
Zalandrus2007-11-29 19:52:29
Not a spoiler, but heck, since the box is open, why not: I don't think the die-and-lose-a-power thing is really that plausible...it feels like it's looking at his power in too scientific a way, especially with the DNA rewinding explanation. I think he's still in some shock from almost dying (note the "almost") from the katana, and his body is still too weak to fully use all his old powers.

And when I said he had illusion power, I was thinking of that scene in the past episode when he and Maya are by some sort of a lake, resting on a log or something...I thought that was an illusion he created, but in hindsight I guess they were...actually by a lake with a log? Heh.

But, he did eat the illusion girl's brain, so he ought to have that power, technically.

Unless...Sylar's original ability to "see how things work" is now flawed...

Personally, I thought they shot him up with another experimental sample of that virus and his powers are gone-gone. But who knows, maybe they're not. I think he woulda used em by now if he had em though - he seems to be much improved physically. He didn't look too wounded when he was killing Maya's brother, or pretending to have just gotten out of the shower.

Then again, maybe there'll be an X-men movie moment and the 'cure' will wear off. After all, it didn't stay in Peter's system that long after he stopped taking those pills. chin.gif
