Woo, thanks for letting me know there was a new one
Noola2007-05-01 05:34:05
Tonight's episode was really good!
I was glad that Nathan was really Sylar cause I couldn't think that Nathan would be that big a jerk!
Shiri2007-05-22 10:30:32
Good ending, kind of. The preview of volume 2 bit was a bit arb though.

The Television Rule: If it's made in Asia, then it will actually end. If it's made in the West, it never ends.

I'm just glad to see there's going to BE a second season! Too many new shows I've liked just had the one season... or not even a whole season!
As for the preview for the second season preview... it wasn't too very arbritrary... I had a feeling they were focusing a bit much on all that ancient Japanese stuff for it not to come into play. Frankly, I had thought that's where Hiro would learn how to use his sword, not from his dad. Course, for just a minute, I thought he was gonna see dinosaurs, a la the paiting of him fighting a T-Rex.
I'm also glad that Claire was able to make Nathan come to his senses! I knew he wasn't quite that much of an A-hole... just a major mamma's boy!

Well, having seen a lot of anime over the last year or so...I've come around to agree with Shorlen that series that end are better as a rule.
I'm kind of hoping Heroes will end at maybe 46? Any longer than about 52 and it starts to get a bit out of whack. At least Heroes is good enough to last that long, IMO...they just need to make sure the ending actually wraps it up, unlike this one. And I think they need a new villain from somewhere.

What about the dude the little girl didn't like to track cause he always knew she was looking? Sounds nice and ominous!
And I like loooooong lasting tv shows. I hate when something I enjoy ends. Shiri2007-05-22 15:23:29

And I like loooooong lasting tv shows. I hate when something I enjoy ends. That one was kind of vague, actually. She said he wasn't the boogeyman (sp), but then when she scried him or whatever got an image of Sylar looking at her with those creepy white painting-eyes. If I'm just reading too much into that, though, yeah he would be the obvious next villain.
And I know what you mean about hating when something you enjoy ends, but having watched Bleach and Naruto devolve into crap simply because they've spent too long going nowhere, and enjoying comparatively short series that actually end and wrap things up, I'd think the latter is probably better. A good theme and characters can only carry a show so far; seems to me that plot runs thin after a bit (Wheel of Time, anyone?) and needs to end after a certain point.

Maybe you have a point... but let it be a good long while. Like Buffy's seven years.
And she'd mentioned the 'scary man who can see her' but she didn't scry him, she was looking for Sylar then, so it makes sense that's who she saw.

I liked the episode. It was slightly anti-climatic which was really nice, and one thing I picked up which I really enjoyed was the source of Peter's power.
unconditinal love. I think Peter's power is a form of empathy, which is something sylar lacked. Also, I believe that Syler was dragged, and did not drag him self, based on that cockroach that was walking over the sewer. I am guessing, that that is the guy who see's molly when she looks at him.
What I want to know is why there was no Haitian in the last few episodes.

But the great thing about Heroes is that they don't have to stick with one charachter. Just the over arching plot of "a vast conspiracy of mutants trying to "heal the world." And a conspiracy that lasts generations but is only slowly being revealed to the new generation now, when they are older, can go on forever.

Exactly! The more characters, the more room there is for the story to evolve. I want years and years of Heroes!

And I don't know, I kind of thought the cockroach was more a symbolic statement about Sylar himself... that it takes a lot to kill him (after all, cockroaches who're beheaded die about seven days later - from thirst).
I love Peter. I thought it was pretty cool that he went back in his dream. I'm not sure if it was an actual power manifestation, or if it was just his subconscious reminding him of something he already knew. And I remember the invisible dude telling him he was an empath when Peter was trying to convince him to help him figure out how to control his powers.

Maybe we'll find out about the Haitian next season.

It was Charles's power I think, to be able to talk to the dead and the unconscious. Thats my theory anyways
Yeah, it was just wierd that the Haitian was in the future episdoe, but not in the last few "real" episodes.

That would make sense. It also explained why Peter discovered his powers via dreams. After all, if Charles was a mutant too, then him and Nathan would be the two mutants he'd be in the most contact with. And Charles wanted him to get a move on so he could change the future the 'group' had planned, so he prolly directed a few of those dreams himself and others, Peter did.

My only complaint was that the epic battle between the two most powerful of mutants wasn't so epic.
Good enough finale though.

It wasn't allowed to be.
Especially after the fight from "the future."
Also I was confused. How is Sylar able to hide in plain sight?

Friend of mine didn't like the ending. Thought that everyone wrote Peter off as dead too easily (I told him that there's a difference between accepting that someone can regenerate after being stabbed through the head and regenerating after being atomized by a nuclear explosion in the stratosphere - but that I don't believe he's dead either) and that Sylar was defeated too easily (I told him that he wasn't really defeated and that he got away and we'll be seeing more of him) and that my idea that Claire's function to convince Nathan that it was a bad idea to let New York blow up was a weak interpretation of "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World" (I told him that I thought it was a pretty good one!
)

I think both Nathan and Peter are both still alive.
Nathan carried Peter as high as he could, then Peter says "Fly away I'm ready to blow", then Nathan flies off, peter starts to fall, then stops focusing on controling the bomb, and starts to fly higher up himself, and that lapse of concentration makes him radiate in a bomb. But he doesn't blow up himself. just learns to control it better now. Just like Ted did.
