Parkman needs to learn some subtlety. Seriously.
Yeah, I think there was a better way to put that than just loudly repeating the word she was thinking...

I feel validated about Candice (slash Michelle) now. She was fat.
I'm somewhat torn about whether I think she's really dead or not. On one hand, it would be extremely stupid to offer him a power that he could use without expecting him to just take it for himself. So it could easily be some sort of test or simulation. On the other hand, when people die on this show, they usually stay dead (Eden wtf?). Minus the obvious exceptions of the healing people.

Maybe they just underestimated Syler's particular brand of crazy.
Shiri2007-10-09 13:57:02
It didn't really look like Candice got out there. I think she's dead - they underestimated him (I did too - I wouldn't have expected him to try and eat my brains if he knew he couldn't use his others because he had a massive chest injury and I was the only one around to help...). And why would you be validated because she's fat?

Side note: Was anyone else surprised that when her illusions faded she looked the same as always? I definitely expected her to be some hugely fat girl, based on what she said to Micah while she was eating. He said something about how his cat ate like that and he was huge, and Candice said "So am I."
That was just some random thoughts. I liked the last episode, but the ending really did seem arbitrary. Although I always expected that either Hiro would go back and do adventures with Kensei, or that he would actually become Kensei.

Edit: That's what I was referring to. I'll spoiler it anyway, though.

TYPE FASTER DERIAN!

From the shot it showed of Candace/Michelle/etc, it didn't look like he had cut off her head like he did with the others. Besides that, if he actually got her powers, he would be ridiculously powerful and almost impossible for the heroes to beat.
I suspect, though, that he actually did get her powers, only they don't work on himself, they only work on other people. There is no reason to assume that she didn't always see through her own illusions, she just projected them into the minds of others.
I think the whole thing with Hiro is a little bizarre. I mean, he can travel through time! Why not just go back to the moment he left?
I am curious about all of the original heroes, though, and who is killing them. We know Angela Petrelli, Mr. Linderman, and Mr. Nakamura. I am guessing that Micah's grandma (D.L.'s mom) is probably in that group too. I am anxious to find out why they are being killed, and what happened to Peter. He has the same necklace as the Haitian now, but it apparently wasn't The Company that gave it too him - who else kidnaps people and leaves marks on them? I'm guessing it's the same people that are killing the others, but we have to wait and see...

Okay, done. Happy now?

But the level of accuracy with which she interacted with her illusions indicates that she can at least tell where/what she's projecting. Either that or she gets some sort of telepathic feedback, so she knows how to project her illusory self properly. Which I guess would work better, since there are no other minds around for Sylar to bounce off.
Does anyone else find it interesting that we now have two power duplications? Kensei->Claire and Nathan->Wess(West? Sometimes Claire sounds like she pronounces a T at the end).
They've sorta implied that it's the new flying kid just because he's a new hero and I assume it's not Nathan. On the other hand, Angela was attacked by...PHANTASM CLAWS! So it probably wasn't a real person that pushed Mr. Nakamura.
I'm also curious about why the random chest injury stops Sylar from using any of his currently acquired abilities. I suspect that that he might not get them back at all.

Yeah, I had a strong "She's fibbing!" feeling when the whole chest injurys are blocking your powers explanation came up. I figured she was just saying that to try to passify him. Cause there's no reason he's lost his original power and they obviously wanted to keep him happy - prolly to use that power later. But, they underestimated his version of crazy.
Then again... maybe he didn't lose them at all and was faking cause he wanted to sound out the situation before he tried to escape... being hurt and all.

Chapters 39 to 42 show Candice and how she got her powers. They are old comics, you should have known that she was fat for a while now.
Peter has the necklace of the Hatian. That is why people think he has no memory. I am guessing that inside the box is messages from the Hatian giving him enough memories to get back to what he needs to know what to do about the original nine. (Chapter 53)
I also think that the person who killed Hiro's dad and attacked Peter's mom is the invisible dude who looks like a bum (or did he die at some point?)

Naw, clearly he lost his powers, and clearly she is dead as he picked out her brain with the pieces of cup out of her ear. His "original" power of being able to see "how things work" are obviously still working. However his ability to use what he knows is lacking because of the sword that Hiro sent through his heart. Thats what I got from it

I've never read any of the comics! So, I wouldn't have know that... Though I did suspect it.

It's a blowfly maggot! I didn't get all fancy with it or anything with it cause it's just a temporary signature celebrating Noola's first maggoting.

Just watched Episode 3. And that, Sylar, was a REALLY smart move. And I'd bet large sums of money that Micah's grandma/whoever has powers. A: They seem to like doing the hereditary thing and B: there was a sort of whooshy noise when we saw her.

My thought was that the whole "Sylar killing Candice" thing was an illusion that she stuck him in. Would explain a lot-- not actually stupid enough to trust him, but letting him think he's out for some reason.

It would explain the pan out at the end, but wouldn't be very interesting

they could be trying to make him feel powerless, *grabs shiny new brain washing chair*
I.E use candice to let him experience a world where he can't use any of his powers and can't acquire any new ones, they offer him some "treatment" but tell him it's only temporary (put him back into the illusion when they are done)
