Having jewelry repaired...isn't worth it. It costs me 5k to get a ring repaired, 7k to get a bracelet repaired. I can buy another of those items AND have them re enchanted for 1/5 of the cost. Lower, please?'
As for occurances- Lusternia needs natural disasters. I don't mean Squidman being released onto the world every year, but maybe actual earthquakes, floods, eruptions, BOOM BOOM SMASH stuff that ISN'T from a demesne.

Mending this clothing will cost 500 gold, which you do not have.
It takes 4 cloth to make those panties. So yeah, if you lower the costs to repair, maybe relook the costs to mend some things, in tailoring too?
Oddly enough Greatrobes cost 1100 gold, now they cost more then that to make. So thats like a reasonable cost. But the underwear, and the gloves that I think cost 800 or 700 gold to mend yet take like 2-4 leather/cloth/silk. I might be wrong on the gloves, but alot of things cost way more to mend then to make new. Unless that was the whole point, don't mend those things?

Sure, you can get things enchanted once, but being able to get something re-enchanted on the day you need it (because you just melted and rebuilt the ring)... that sounds like the kind of thing that would happen in a balanced economy. You're still not fooling me.

Jewelry and clothing prices are set by whom? The Divine? They only set the repair costs, and people only get things repaired if they've got great value to them. I think people could make much more profit on clothing and jewelry by simply raising prices all around (easier said than done, sure).
I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank the Divine Ones for those Runes of Enchantment. Truly wonderful items! (No implication is being made that everyone should simply get runes and quit complaining about repairs, either.)
