Voting has reset!

Last round, we made it to 5th place--higher than we've been in a long while! Lets try to keep it up!

Yay! Fourth! But what do the In and Out columns mean?
Rauros2005-12-26 23:32:43
In and Out has something to do with how many people view the game and how many people click on the link to go to the game.

Correct me if Im wrong.

The new voting prompts are doing wonders for the rankings. Good stuff! I tried to vote as much as I could in the past, but I used to forget a lot. Never miss with these prompts though.

Exactly. I play Nexus in full screen and I never look at the compass so my gaze just doesn't fall on that vote button.
Vix2005-12-27 17:55:26
For some reason the Nexus vote button doesn't disappear when I click it. unsure.gif
Peeka2005-12-27 18:31:04
Is it possible to create a button in Zmud for it that would launch the default browser?
Soll2005-12-27 18:47:19
Yes. Just create a button with the value: #url {www.ironrealms.com/irex/tmsvote.php?id=lusternia}

Click Buttons on the toolbar.
Click New.
Set the 'Kind:'(of button) to 'Push'
In the caption, write 'VOTE!'
In the value, put '#url {www.ironrealms.com/irex/tmsvote.php?id=lusternia}'
Go to Position/Size and put it where you want.
Then click to vote!
Peeka2005-12-27 19:03:34
It works like a charm, thanks Soll! I had no idea that #url was there. wub.gif

15 votes to displace Medievia! It's a DIKU, c'mon, we can beat that.

Any chance we can see how many votes are left when 'Thank you very much for voting! See HELP VOTING to read about how that helps Lusternia as a whole.' comes up? And another signal(if you have config voting on/prompt) when Lusternia moves up a rank?
Richter2005-12-30 04:07:54
We needed 35 or so to get third, I got a few Lusternians to vote, but make sure to do so if you haven't!

Remember, there's always the option to configure it in your prompt. smile.gif

Third place!
Xavius2006-01-01 05:19:54
Unfortunately, we got third place by having the former third place removed outright for thumbing its collective nose at Synozeer, who runs TMS. It still looks nice, though!
Vix2006-01-01 23:02:18
Who was the former third? Medievia?
Unknown2006-01-01 23:05:09
Yeah.

They had been losing votes it seems for some time, because Lusternia had only been about 15-20 votes behind when I had last looked, before they were removed.

1. What is Topmudsites?
It is a website whose primary purpose is a form of "traffic exchange" promotional site. Basically, MUDs send traffic (internet users) to it by having users 'vote' for a MUD, and it sends traffic back to the MUD. The more traffic/votes a MUD sends to it, the more it generally gets back. It's free promotion and a way for you to help the world of Lusternia with very little effort.

2. How can I vote for Lusternia?
Easy! Just go to www.lusternia.com/vote and then click on the page when it asks you if you really want to vote. That's it! You can only have your vote counted every 12 hours.

3. I can never remember to vote!
Don't feel bad - it's a common issue! To help you, we've implemented two distinct ways to remind you:
  • Type config voting prompt or just config voting on. This will keep track of when you last voted as long as you're logged into Lusternia when you vote, and remind you to vote 13 hours after you last voted. If you used 'config voting prompt' then the word 'vote' will appear on your prompt as a reminder and you will be sent another reminder every half an hour until you vote. If you used 'config voting on' then you will only be sent the half-hourly reminder. If your vote doesn't register for whatever reason, just type 'voted' to register that you voted.
  • A reminder is sent to everyone online about twice a day.
HELP VOTING in Lusternia will give you more information. Remember: You certainly don't have to vote, but it does help Lusternia in the long-run and we'd appreciate it. Thanks!
Terenas2006-01-05 06:29:08
To make it easier for people to vote. This is for Zmud.

#alias vote {#url http://www.ironrealms.com/irex/tmsvote.php?id=lusternia}

So next time just type in vote and you'll vote automatically. Or you can just trigger it off the vote reminder message. We're in 3rd place as of this time. Woohoo. happy.gif

Voting has reset! We made it to number 3 last vote cycle which was very, very impressive! Think we can do it again?
