Poor Shiri, you haven't been around enough.

He's only 16. wink.gif

Poor Shiri? I'm quite happy to stay ignorant, I think. tongue.gif

*shrugs* I'm 13 and I get most of the jokes.
Buho2005-01-31 04:02:48
TMS has reset.
Desdemona2005-01-31 19:17:27
I wonder... how many people actually vote regularly? And is CWHO voters/GWHO voters accurate when showing who has voted or not? Because I sometimes don't see many people who have bothered to vote on CWHO voters/GWHO voters (Serenwilde). How is it in other cities/guilds?
Rhysus2005-01-31 22:07:21
Is that an actual command at all?

How do you turn that on?
Gwylifar2005-01-31 22:40:27
No matter how much I vote, it never seems to know I have. And as I have dialup, I can vote from several IPs in the same day if I lose connection enough (not that I always remember to, though).

Am pretty sure that only shows those who vote using the Java Client provided by the site.
Unknown2005-02-02 03:18:18
And also if you vote while logged on the Lusternian Artisanal/Bardic thing.

For the game to count your vote, you need to login and then use the vote link. If it thanks you for voting in the game, you've gotten counted, and it'll show on C/GWHO VOTERS.

Also, you need to vote from completely separate IP domains, so most dialup DHCP addresses from most ISPs will not qualify as unique enough when you disconnect and dialup again. I actually vote from home and from two distinct domains at work, so it actually counts three for me. cool.gif
Gwylifar2005-02-02 16:11:42
I know what it's supposed to do, it just never does for me. I never get the thank you, not even from work (where I have a reserved address).
Buho2005-02-02 23:10:46
Sometimes if your behind a firewall it won't record that you voted.
Gwylifar2005-02-03 15:32:32
Bah. Of course I'm behind a firewall, I'm not stupid. Why should that matter? Bah.

Edit: Wait, if this means the only votes that count are from people who don't know enough to be behind firewalls, then that might explain some of the results there...
Buho2005-02-04 05:08:27
From my understanding of how the vote reminder stuff works, if your behind extremely secure firewalls the game can't register your vote, but TMS still does. Don't as me why, I just remember hearing that somewhere...

The Mudconnector has reset their votes! Although I'm not clear how they rank MUDs, apparently you can vote 3 times:

Regular Vote

Telnet Vote

Homepage Vote

Also, please do not use open proxy servers to vote!
QUOTE( The Mudconnector)
We have wiped the stats and ranking tables once again after finding evidence of some open-proxy usage in our logs. We have added code to help restrict the use of known open proxies and prevent votes from being counted from those servers. We are logging all votes now and will periodically check votes that were tallied for open proxies, muds found to be using votes issued from open proxy servers will have their stats wiped and be suspended from the rankings system (this is the only warning you will get).

For those who do take the time to vote, thank you!
