I like your kitty.

Ensua, who has inept dramatics, a maestro instrument and gifted necroscream does this:
CODE
3260h, 4370m, 2774e, 10p, 15200en, 20750w exk-

Ensua plays an onyx viola with a diamond rose and directs the disharmonic notes
towards you.
The reverberating sound echoes through your head, pounding you with excruciating
pain.
outr earwort
eat earwort
2437h, 4370m, 2774e, 10p, 15200en, 20750w exk-

And with achromatic aura on me, this:
CODE
3260h, 4370m, 2774e, 10p, 15200en, 20750w exk-

Ensua plays an onyx viola with a diamond rose and directs the screeching notes
towards you.
AFF achromatic
3260h, 4370m, 2774e, 10p, 15200en, 20750w exk-

The ache in your ear canals clears up.
3260h, 4370m, 2774e, 10p, 15200en, 20750w exk-

Ensua plays an onyx viola with a diamond rose and directs the disharmonic notes
towards you.
The reverberating sound echoes through your head, pounding you with excruciating
pain.
2272h, 4370m, 2774e, 10p, 15200en, 20750w exk-

I think Krellan is just an outside factor. He's a bloody demigod, after all, probably with trans magic. Incidently, mine is inept.
Kaervas2007-06-08 16:36:17
He's a moondancer, don't even bother trying magic damage on them.
Verithrax2007-06-08 16:38:40
Bards *should* get some way of doing non-magic damage. Magic resistance is far too widespread.
Yrael2007-06-08 16:43:57
Also, there isn't much difference, it seems, for someone like Ensua and someone like Kaervas:

CODE
3246h, 3350m, 2774e, 10p, 15200en, 20750w exkp-

Kaervas plays Kiakoda's Lament and directs the disharmonic notes towards you.
The reverberating sound echoes through your head, pounding you with excruciating
pain.
2010h, 3350m, 2774e, 10p, 15200en, 20750w exkp-

CODE
Kaervas plays Kiakoda's Lament and directs the screeching notes towards you.
You blanch as the high-pitched screech settles deep within your mind.
2599h, 3350m, 2774e, 10p, 15200en, 20750w exkp-

The ache in your ear canals clears up.
2599h, 3350m, 2774e, 10p, 15200en, 20750w exkp-

Kaervas plays Kiakoda's Lament and directs the disharmonic notes towards you.
The reverberating sound echoes through your head, pounding you with excruciating
pain.
1116h, 3350m, 2774e, 10p, 15200en, 20750w exkp-

Oh, right. I'll use that fire attack that I have. That'll work.
...wait, what? sad.gif
Kaervas2007-06-08 17:45:16
You're bitching about your magic attack not doing enough damage to a moondancer, I'm pointing out that moondancers hardly get hurt by magic? There's no need to try and be a smartass.
Unknown2007-06-08 19:27:58
If any of these do go through, please don't call the skill "tuning." That would be entirely contrary to the skill of minorsecond - if it wasn't in tune, it wouldnt BE a minor second.
Sylphas2007-06-08 20:58:47
Probably the same as Moonburst. It's not a Bard problem, it's a Moondancer being tanky as crap against Magic dmg. Furrikin moonies are worse. You literally cannot kill a furrikin moony with magic dmg if they have an autosipper.

Bumping this, because my Minorsecond does under 400 damage to Krellan.
And I have a tier 3 magic rune.
And a Maestro instrument.

Welcome to my world. My magic-boost arti just happens to be the middle level. tongue.gif

It would be fun if Colorburst did damage to mobs! Then I could use my rainbow powers!

And I could bash without first questing/weeviling up ~20k gold.
Sylphas2007-06-09 07:24:00
I hate when I miss that there's a second (or even more) page and my response to the last post on page one looks like a total non-sequitur since it's quoteless. >_<

I'm not being a smartass, that was kind of my point.
The fact that Bards rely on damage kills (mostly) means it's hard to kill anything with a 100% magic attack.
I mean, versus a Moondancer, you'd be getting slapped around by fae, making the timed instakill hard enough to pull off without adding in the whole earwort thing. And damage kills are nigh-impossible too?

Being a bard yourself (albeit a demigod bard), you should have noticed this, surely?
Sorry, Kae-kae. hug.gif

Really, 100% of any damage type is a bad idea.
Moonburst should probably be 50% cold or something.
Not that it's not super hurty as is. sad.gif

They don't.

Though I agree minorsecond needs its damage type changed.
Furien2007-06-09 19:17:35
I think Visaeris tried to envoy it being 50% magic, 50% psychic.

Not that it's a great idea, in foresight. Hello, Kephera Moonies. sad.gif
Sylphas2007-06-09 20:55:34
God forbid damage resistance is worth anything. Not like pretty much everyone has an instakill of some sort. tongue.gif

In groups, it's easier, sure.
But if you're being hit by ents or a demesne, getting the instakill off is fairly tricky.

I'm not sure how bards are balanced now.. but you shouldn't really be working on damage kills. You'll never be able to compete with high level or top tier fighters if that's your tactic.

That's kind of my point.
Though, to be fair, I managed to off Narsrim through damage.

...he's also a bard. What does that tell you? sad.gif
Unknown2007-06-13 03:07:36
the only way to compete with anyone of higher level ive discovered...im a Harbinger in Glomdoring...is to trans Shadowbeat, or w/e the other specialization is, becasue then you can just cause instant death, and that could prove to be useful tongue.gif
