Could solve it that, when the shield gets destroyed, the thing that stays could be smelted for the comms. Wouldn't cost anything, and would still make the skill work as intended.

I liked the ideas that was proposed many threads ago.
When armor status gets down to 0 the shield loses any blocking abilities but stays a shield.
You cna get the shield repaired by blacksmiths to get it above 0 again.

Shieldsmash shouldn't destroy shields... should just dent them so forgers can finally make some decent money!

Okay, to begin with, I agree that shieldsmash needs to be changed. However, Talkan, you are known for jumping random people and doing similar things, while constantly telling everyone else to . So, to quote you from another thread, "harden up, princess."

Ethelon hasn't changed much, I see.

I don't really think you have a lot of room to complain, Talkan. Considering you jump people on Spectre Isle without warning (it's the closest bashing point to Mag). You only jump newbies. Anytime someone other then a newbie is bashing it, you don't mess with them. Even if your 'prey' makes it off the Island (thus accomplishing your goal of protecting the spectres) you still chase them. Then you ignore tells after the fact asking -why- they were slain (and this isn't just me, I can think of, off hand, at least 6 people who you killed as newbies on Slave Isle, but never told -why-).
In short...
What goes around, comes around. Quite frankly, if I had a skill like that, I'd do the same thing. Just because you act like a thug, and I don't like thugs. And anything that makes a thugs life harder is fun in my book.

Who are these guests, and I thought you could only post with an account?
And, Talkan has killed Reiha before while they were around the same level (I think) in the camp, so not just newbies - although that may have been 6 months ago or so.

A little off the subject there, "C", but in reply-Talkan has never jumped people who were hunting there, unless he was already there because of the Spectre quest and he couldn't really afford for certain spectres to be killed. Surely you can understand that. And, by newbies if you mean people like Estwald and Malarious, ok-otherwise I always tell them to leave, I don't actually kill newbies that hunt on spectre island.
P.S. In retrospect of writing this, I feel a little dumb because I know no matter what I say, even being the truth, people won't care and think what they want.
But, back on subject-I think it'd be perfectly fine for a shield when it reaches 0 to have absolutely no use, so shieldsmash would serve the same purpose, but instead of having to make an entirely new shield it you could repair it.

Well with all the nice arties for non warriors that give grips and uber nice shields (better than a forger can forge) people just need to buy em... but I do like supporting our forgers.... they need to make a living too.

Or, a certain champion can start acting like a champion by not using such a retarded skill.

I find it funny Talkan denies jumping people on spectre isle then tries to call people who can slay him newbies.
Talkan has still never beaten me in a duel, and tends to die when he tries to jump me. Not sure how he does against Estwald, but Talkan just proves all the more why he shouldnt be a champion of anything.
When you can win a duel, tell me. Comment on the thread, and you do jump little ones and newbs. You also jump slightly higher tier, but rarely if ever do you jump and finish jumping anyone decent.

Like what? That it was clearly more fun to be a griefer since Mag was having so much fun not just kicking Celest when it was down but jumping up and down on the prone body? Or is this just a random anti-Celest propaganda statement that doesn't have to actually make sense? If so, please, continue.

It was mostly just a random joke. Apparently sarcasm doesn't come across well in the forums, I've had more messages about that post than any other post I've ever written...
Though I do believe Ethelon/Erion/Eiru/Ceres? Whatever the other one's name was were griefing Mag as much as they could back then. I remember the C-girl (I want to say Ceres, but that could be wrong) coming and jumping people just so she could get status on them, then she could go around and kill all of the novices without anyone being able to stop her. Granted, Mag was probably much worse just because they were on top at the time, but there was a lot of griefing going on both ways.
Okay, failed joke, let's move along now, nothing to see here...

So were Ethelon/Erion eventually, but I thought Eiru started with them in Celest? My memory isn't what it used to be

As I said earlier, there is probably no point in trying to convince the idiots who make up their mind simply because they want to, but here I try.
Who, Malarious have I ever killed on spectre isle that is a newbie? Names, please.
And, what does our duels have anything to do with anything? If anything, it would show that I have the courage to fight someone fairly, therefore completely being opposite of the thinly veiled negative statement you were trying to make.
And, just for kicks and giggles, Malarious-I'll inform you here that Talkan absolved Daevos last night, if that counts as "newbie killing" then yes, I suppose I'm guilty. Unfortunately, it does not.
Malarious2007-05-12 02:20:40
Your attacks vary and I didnt say you didnt I said rarely, which you can easily change.
I dont track who you kill either, I care little.
And yes you are -willing- to do a duel, you just jump more often it seems.

I laughed, almost as hard as I did when I saw the combat log of Talkan and Ash..... now that was funny.
And people need to stop saying I shieldbash so much. I only use it on Forren and Talkan. Forren was paid for all of his shields aswell, but he always fails to recall when he wants to make jabs at me.
