This is the kind of fighting that is UNACCEPTABLE.

Actually, both of them address a perception of the "failing spirit of good will in the gaming community." This one was about being killed while disconnected (later found out that there may have been an issue with the logging on message not displaying correctly, but that was still the reason for the original posting). Further, you followed it up yourself by saying that you have learned "No Mercy." Again, a failing spirit of good will.

Good will has rather been going to * recently.

I'd hate to say it... but even I wouldn't stoop to such lows =/

and Avechna will feel my wrath, I swear!

If you DC and die because of it yes, that sucks, but I wouldn't have any problems with it. I've died that way several times, and even if I saw an enemy reconnect in the middle of the fight, I have to agree with Nico that I would kill them anyway. Of course, I don't jump people while they are hunting, so that would only be an issue if someone was raiding or we were in a group fight..

What DOES get old is the constant fighting in the catacombs. I always enjoy a good raid, especially evenly matched ones (like the tradeoffs between Nil and Celestia a couple of days ago, that was fun!) but the fights over the catacombs are getting annoying quickly. Celest wants them so they can hunt, so they kill any Mags who go there. Mag takes them over and they want them so they can hunt, so they kill any Celestians who go there. It would be easy to just ask Celest to stop killing Mags there so we can all hunt freely, but unfortunately they know that if they let Mags in freely, someone will eventually screw it up by trying to take it over and killing the Celestians there. It's basically lose/lose right now, and looks well on its way to becoming the new incarnation of the old Faethorn.

Second, you're completely right. We were talking before hand and specifically targetted you because we knew you were fixing to Disconnect.

The forum software seems to be broken. Look at this bit of text I actually got on my screen while I was reading it!

Sorry about that. It's just one of those wrong place, wrong time deals.

You did kind of pop in right as Magnagora was sending undead into Delport, though, so we were all a bit on edge about that because we were trying to kill the gatekeeper(s) before Magnagora realized "Hey guys, they're in the catacombs and not a big group, we should go do something about that".

At the time, it seemed more like "Oh hey, this guy is rushing into a group stupidly" and not "Oh hey, this guy just connected to the realms as we walked in". I don't have any personal vendetta against you, but when in enemy territory, you tend to get very jumpy about enemies just being near you, let alone fighting them.

If it's any consolation at all, a nice group of Magnagorans walked in with a menagerie of various ur'dead not too long after you were killed. Trying to fight three decent fighters with seven or so varieties of undead hitting you is about as doable as cooking a steak with just a box of matches.

What about those of us who go in there to hunt and don't kill Mags or aren't enemied to Magnagora? Do we get hunted down too?

It shouldn't matter if you're enemied or not. As for whether you'll be hunted...it depends on who sees you. If it is someone who's in a bad mood, probably. I think Celest is about the same in that.

Well, while it's true Estwald was only with Prailie, there was also a considerable sized group of Magnagoran's there also. There wasn't any way for us to know that they were actually bashing and not with the rest of the group. So, yes-a situation of bad timing, coupled with disconnection, coupled with having to worry about 5 other enemies doesn't really result in a good ending for the unfortunate party.

Going? I think it's safe to say that good will hopped into a handbasket and shipped itself to hades a while ago.

It's all about the winning. There isn't any separation between players/characters. Why go after the characters when you go after the players? Hey, if you can manage to really stick it to them maybe they won't want to log in anymore and then you "win" right? Yeah.

And that is, after all, why we have the forums! You can always compensate for a loss IC with a big win OOC right here!

No, I don't really buy it. I see where you're coming from, but I don't buy it. And I'm not -quite- as jaded as you... yet.

First, lets start off by saying watch your language on the forums.
Second, you're completely right. We were talking before hand and specifically targetted you because we knew you were fixing to Disconnect.
Thirdly, are you really complaining that you died in a large group?
Fourthly, are you really complaining that you LICHED and then CONGLUTED?
Harden up, princess.

Hello, when did you become a mod?

Also, if you must use and abuse Murphy's lines, kindly say it right.

Have a nice cold can of harden the F censor.gif up, princess.

Hey I can post censor.gif fights too. Anyway. I get disconnected, and login to that. Amazingly enough none of them noticed me coming back, or, amazingly enough, me not doing a thing while dying the first time. Amazingly enough, that included liching, then sitting there doing nothing for about 20 seconds. I find it strange that none of them noticed anything was wrong and managed to miss the login message. I usually notice it, and when it's the first thing that someone does in a fight it seems like it would stand out.

I'm sure that's all just me though.

Maybe people enjoy fights like this, I dunno.
