I can't even begin to believe how much work it was for the Divine to make this huge area, and two player races, and the unveiling event, not to mention a new book in the History of the Elder Wars....

Seriously. Impressive. Seriously seriously impressive.

Illithoids in prison need to use leeching attack less often. They are pain in the ... to kill.
If Khepharas arent so troubling to kill then Ililthoids need to ue this attack less often!!!!

/agreed and seconded.

The leeching attack is what makes them really hard and tendious to kill. Not that they hurt me much as keph, but even as demigod I have to rely solemly on criticals to kill them.. without them the leech attack makes it almost impossible for me. I can stand there for five min and bash one and never kill it because of that... please have them do it less often.. much less often.

EDIT: And seconded in that it is a fun area! Good work! biggrin.gif

Yeah the slavers pissed me off, imagine this... Keph knight, beating them with Rapiers... after 20 minutes of getting no where but wasting health sips, I ran, bumping into Galaphyre, and ganked them and all their brethern :-p
Richter2007-05-14 08:35:28
Yeah, Doman and I wailed on one for five minutes to no avail...

Rapiers.. yeah as long as they leech, forget to try and kill them -unless- you are high level to get plenty of criticals -or- you have a crit medallion. Otherwise you won't get anywhere seriously. Considering their chance to do the leech attack right now, you -have- to rely on criticals to kill them. Damage won't do it (unless you get -really really- lucky and they don't leech).

Please please either nerf how much health they stock up again after each leech, nerf the frequency in which they do leech attacks or just remove them. They prone and blackout anyhow (and some give stupidity, not sure which yet)...

Btw, has anyone bashed kephs yet? Do they afflict at all?

They're fine, but they web.

En masse, that's a pain. I had 25 seconds of non-stop webbing when I attempted to bash seven of them at once.

Also, Kephera nurses leech, it's not just an Illithoid thing... and they leech nastily. It's like garshades.. but twice as bad.

Well keph nurses is only a small part of them though right? Most are warriors / workers I think. Nurses are only in the breeding whatever place.

I have to check again later when I have time but I think -all- types of Illithoids leech. (If someone wants to check this, feel free to) Which does make it an issue.

And against 7+ I can imagine balckout + prone would be nasty too. tongue.gif

You can still keep hitting when blacked out.

Yeah but you have a higher chance of dying if you can't see the damage done to you.. you can only guess at when you should better run.

Against one it doesn't matter much, but neither does web unless it's done excessively (see a -single- tentacle from that ascention event... just insane, I couldn't kill a -single- one), against 7+ it can mean perma blackout which isn't too nice.

Its me again bitching about illithoids leeching attack.

Its freeking insane!!

Its maybe not harder then astral but 100 times more annoying if this wont change noone will be bashing there, sadly cuse it would be great place to hunt for 80+ level peoples and groups of low level peoples too, cose those illithoids arent agressive like astral mobs.

Please make leeching attack to occure less often.

People have need crazy critical rate to bash those.

And once more excellent and huuuge area!!!

Easy solution: give up and move to Mag! Then you can just pet the Illithoids, and go kill all of the Kephera instead!
Ashteru2007-05-14 12:58:18
A thing you need to remember: Illithoids are only in one area, which makes them far easier to bash. tongue.gif
Hazar2007-05-14 13:00:13
Maybe you can tone it down, but let them keep the leeching attacks - it only makes sense.
Unknown2007-05-14 13:01:36
For the record, I think the kephera nurses are almost as bad. They leech, but they can also cause stupidity, and can mindblast. I think it's amazing RP-wise and should never be changed, but they hurt like hell.
Ekard2007-05-14 13:09:06
Im not saying that leeching attack should be removed.
Just make it hit like 1/5 of times not something like it is now, around half of their attacks are leeching attacks.
And on top of that they haev blackout and quite nasty damage.
And they team if you attack one in presence of others.

So all cool but leeching is a little too much, tone it down a little, pwease! wub.gif

On another note, this might be a bug (worth bugging?) but the kephera warriors don't seem to defend their queens. At least, they didn't when the Undervault was first discovered. We found this out by accident, when we attacked the queen first and killed her, we were all wondering why it was so easy for about half a second until someone attacked one of the warriors, then suddenly they all defended each other and things got much more complicated. Might be how it was intended, or it might be fixed now, but FYI either way.

See below for my quote on leeching attacks. tongue.gif Not easier at all. Well perhaps 'easier' if you are a lazy tae'dae that doesn't want to run through endless tunnles to reach the next hive. wink.gif

I agree. I like the leeching attacks RPwise, but for bashing they are too much. They occur too frequently and heal the mob far too much...

I've not bashed them (and don't really intend to) however the nurses are only a small part of the whole kephera population right? The Illithoids however -all- have the leeching attack. That's what makes it too much. You can bash kephera warriors / workers and never touch the nurses but you can't escape the Illithoid leeching.

I do think though that the mob leech attachs in general need to be tuned down. They garshades are almost as bad. You cannot bash them with damage, if you can't do criticals (ie if you don't have a 700-1600? cr artie, or are level 85-100) you can pretty much forget it. And even with high level and crit rune it can drag on for minutes on end.

Seconded. Every last sentence.

I think the warriors are there to defend the queen, if they didn't before then yeah it sounds like a bug... I do hope it works now. Raising one queen is a long and tendious quest, I swear if a queen can be killed in a matter of seconds.. grrrr
Unknown2007-05-14 13:43:27
OK, lemme get this straight. The illthoids and kepheras are influenceable-mobs, and are not aggro?

If so, is it possible to reach them without getting killed easily?
