I think the warriors are there to defend the queen, if they didn't before then yeah it sounds like a bug... I do hope it works now. Raising one queen is a long and tendious quest, I swear if a queen can be killed in a matter of seconds.. grrrr
We had really big groups for most of the queens - I have no idea how many we killed, but there are a ton of them! - but this one queen in particular (Imhotep I think?) there were only five of us. We expected a really hard time, but the queen died really easily. Then someone hit one of the six warriors, and three of the five of us died, and I ran. Hopefully they're defending properly and they're harder now.

OK, lemme get this straight. The illthoids and kepheras are influenceable-mobs, and are not aggro?
If so, is it possible to reach them without getting killed easily?

I think they are influencable but to reah them you need to pass some agressive mobs.
So glance/squint before every move and try to sprint or find way around them.
Passing cave-fishers isnt that bad, but getting to Prison could be a little troublesome, there is a lot of adoraths in Illwater Lake.

No 'cause the creatures in the tunnels are aggro.

Well, sad about the aggro mobs in the tunnels. No way that I'm going to be able to pass them as a faeling.
Another question. Is Mindread only for speaking? Does it involve reading as well? The race profile on the website seems a little ambiguous to me.
Edit: Unless, I'm able to burrow past them? Is that possible?

OR! You could hire your local tour guide. ME!

Can't burrow in constructed underground environment. Which is almost all down there (except the beaches and seas)

Perhaps if some kind soul will forest the entire Undervault...well, I can dream.
And thanks Ash, I'll consider taking up on the offer some day.

And I'll undo it! You should all have to walk like the rest of us!
The undervault is technically part of Prime, right? So Avechna applies? I wonder if teleport skills (hermit, demesne center, spores, etc) will go there from prime? Teleport doesn't, but it also doesn't go between astral spheres while those abilities do.
EDIT: UNDERVAULT! Not Underdark *shudder*

Teleport works just fine. Teleport nexus doesn't.

Just some feedback:
All of Seren spent like 3 hours yesterday raising her. And apprently from the looks of it it was very easy to get rid of her again.
3 hours so she can be killed that easily by perhaps one person even? I say screw that. Queens are too easy to slay and it's too much effort to raise them, especially since it's a quest that is more tendious to do than raising an Avatar... and with reset times can even take much longer. NOTHX!

Isn't it only 3 hours? You can go around and bash meanwhile!

LOL!
Now if the two cases would relate at all it'd be nice. And no, you can't bash meanwhile because, unlike for the wyrdling quest, you never have to wait for resets in between. Other than that I really see no connections sorry.
Raising the wyrdling is more or less on par with raising any other important quest mob that belongs to an org. The queens play in an entire other league.
Try raising a queen, then you'll understand what makes this quest..... well let's not go into that.
Next time, if you want to be witty be sure you pick examples that fit at least.

If anything that weakens your argument.
Its just a quest, and has no bearing on your org. Its like the gorgog quest, really hard to finish, really easy for other people to undo/disrupt.

Long annoying quest that you must do when a weak mob dies. Yep, I see no relation at all.

Aren't -all- the Queen's dead though? and don't -all- the Queen's need to be returned to life to even start the other side of the quest? (Sounds to be like how the relighting of the Star used to be) Even if the effort of ressing a single queen=ressing wyrdthing are the same, you have to do it X times then, in neutral territory rather then inside your own org. (There's also no way to put guards at the queens to keep them alive so you might as well do all of the res-quests, plus the honors-quest right in a row, hrm, how long would that be? days of irl work from half a dozen to a dozen people?) Please don't compare it to the gorgog quest, I can do that myself in an hour or so, all the little steps to that are painfully easy.(I've just never wanted the honors line for RP reasons)
I hope the reward reflects the effort at least, it would suck if you got like 5,000 gold and 2% karma from it like other quests.
Edit:Certainly completing the an honors quest has no need to be done, unlike the wyrdthing, so I understand that part of it.

Looking through the log that I have, the Queens do seem quite weak. Having only been there for one death, I'm reluctant to make sweeping statements, however, they appear to fall in only seven strikes, give or take a few critical hits. Of course, the level and general ability of the attackers, and any defenders present at that time, are going to shape the course of things - possibly drastically, possibly not. As it stands, though, it seems a swift death for something that takes a fair amount of time and effort to raise.
Ashteru2007-05-14 19:41:31
If I hadn't been there, Thoros and Yuniko probably couldn't have done it with Kalos demesne beating on them.
EDIT: Actually...I am not sure. In any case, the guards and the queen even hurt me.

We're keeping an eye on the progress of things and making adjustments here and there. However, part of the problem (at least as I see it) is that with the initial excitement about the new area and honours quests (there are 8 total) the area is seeing a huge amount of traffic and so keeping mobs alive is understandably difficult. With that in mind, we're not going to make any sweeping changes at first, to avoid the knee-jerk reactionary approach which is ultimately more harmful than it is helpful.
I'll also drop a tantalizing hint for our questers: this area has re-introduced the concept of "notable honours" lines, which used to exist in Glomdoring and Serenwilde before we disabled the Hart and Crow quests. In layman's terms what this means is that if you can complete all the honours quests in a particular cycle (kephera or illithoid, and there are 4 on each side) you can gain a special honours line that has a few minor RP perks.
