Screw maneuvers, without proofings, you're going to be susceptible to mage/wiccan damage kills (especially males who have craptacular numbers in the INT/CHA departments) like Toadcurse, MindBurst, Heartburst (maybe, but not likely, since mage combatants go Telepathy instead of TK), Preserve, Chasm, etc., etc.
You can proof cloaks and coats which can be worn over much of anything.

Viravain does not hate illithoid. She is hateful of soulless and subsequently suspicious and distrustful, but very curious about the illithoid.

If I remember correctly, you can only proof coats and cloaks with fire or frost, not vitae or quicksilver.

I think the Illithoids were designed to incorporate Illdrain as a vital part of the stat balance, judging from the extremely low charisma. It's possible that the Kephera were designed to require the Hives, but the health/mana/ego boost doesn't really make up for the lack of str/int in the same way that Illdrain does for the charisma.
That sounds stupid. I don't think a race would be balanced to suck unless other five people in the same race (One of which must be female) are around the same area.
Daganev2007-05-15 16:47:32
I think hives should not be restricted on area, and the boost should be good enough to compensate for the stats, instead, as a restriction, experience gain should be shared amongst the hive as if they were following
Callia2007-05-15 16:56:39
Actually, I would be happy only if Hives worked like Rings in Imperian
Where there is an experience boost if hunting in a ring, so you get almost as much expeirence as if you were solo but less risk?

That was actually my point, albeit not as...succinctly articulated. I was saying that the boost for Hives doesn't compensate for the lack of stats, so it seems reasonable to conclude that Hives are not the same as Illdrain in that it is required to make the race legitimate.
Edit: My original post was directed at the post immediately above it, where the poster said that since Illdrain seemed crucial to the race, then maybe Hives was supposed to be likewise critical.

In other words-- a level 100 experience bonus?
Uhh... this sort of thing should be an all-or-nothing proposition. Everyone gets it, or nobody. Given the number of Titans around, I'm betting it'll stay with nobody, but I could be wrong.

Then she can talk to Dsiri, because everyone does it.

A minor RP change not worth a total announce post in-game:
- Kephera females who declare as a queen will now notice their race name reflect their status as a Hive Queen.
- I added chitter as a say verb (mainly for kephera), in addition to chant (I know ritualists have been asking for this), hiss (for you illithoid lovers), plead, roar, and purr.

Ya, that is rather annoying. I chanted benediction out loud a few times today (should have been starchant).

Just a question but are the kephera race not exceptionally screwed when fighting warriors? The physical resistances are all well and good as a balance to the no armour to protect them against damage but they don’t effect wounds do they?
Callia2007-05-24 14:10:44
Wear robes
Damadreas2007-05-24 14:13:58
Wear robes. Become so tanky that you can likely regenerate a warrior damage if you're got some regens going or some such. Zomg warrior? What warrior?

There are monoliths scattered around. If I remember correctly, you need to capture a monolith to tap into all/the bulk of your abilities. Not only that, it has to be one of your type. Feel free to correct me, but I know Monoliths were integral.
