If I remember correctly, you can only proof coats and cloaks with fire or frost, not vitae or quicksilver.
You remembered incorrectly, all cloaks, coats, capes, etc can be proofed with whatever ya want. Just one per item, save for splendor robes.
And people, giving kephera robes when it says no armor is plain ol silly. No robes for them, just update the race to have an exoskeleton. With a base 40/40 armor stat. That will stop the whole insane chainmail stats on robes, and low end plate stats on splendor robes.
If you wanna get neat with it, give them a skill called shed. Which once per lusty month they can shed their exoskeleton, the new skeleton stats would range from 40/40 - 50/50. Also if you don't shed your exoskeleton for a lusternian year, it will auto shed or possibly over time it becomes more damaged giving worse stats so people will shed. That would keep it so people didn't just shed until they got a 50/50 exo. And would fit into the RP. Like through the fighting of the past month, your exoskeleton has been damaged, causing you to molt, and shed your old exoskeleton.

I was under the impression only greatrobes could accept magic and electricity proofings.

So was I, according to what the tailor I got proofings from told me yesterday.
And...no, don't nerf the greatrobes. Really, even as a Kephera, female Bards are still flimsy. We don't need to be even moreso.

All types of proofings can be put on coats/cloaks/robes. Robes can hold two, and coats/cloaks hold one each.
The Kephera should just have some disadvantages - 'no armour' is hardly a disadvantage in a game where everyone except warriors wears robes. I think a Level 2 Fire Weakness, a Level 1 Magic Weakness, and/or a Level 1 Electricity weakness should suffice.
EDIT: Although, Ildaudid's idea seems a lot more fun.

Unless they changed something, my old coat was electric proofed by veo, and the coat I am wearing now is magic proofed.

Psh, Ild didn't come up with that alone (I think). Plus, if the stats range from 40 to 50, you don't have much to complain, they are at least average, while 50 already is nice. Additionally, you prolly would dodge as if you had leather, since you technically don't wear robes.

To give a better understanding of how id balance works, it is based on current ego *and* max ego. It's really percent of current ego into max ego: higher percent means lower balance. For illithoid, this creates two possibilities. 1) Having large max ego will make it take longer for you to fall into low percentage, so you should have overall better balance speeds than players with less max ego, even if their charisma is higher. 2) Illithoids keep their ego bonus if they don't consume the ego even after the max ego decays. So if they beef up and let it decay, they will temporarily have really fast id since they are over 100% ego capacity. This should allow them to have faster id than any other race for the first few attacks.
I was all excited when I first read this and I just now got a chance to try it out. My Id took 23 seconds to recover. Baby Khonso cried.
