Back to Common Grounds.

Now this kind of argument reminds me of the Lusternia I fell in love with!
Callia2007-05-16 06:30:47
Perhaps discover the counter quest?

Okay, so, HOW exactly do you undo 5 queens and then the queen of queens, taking into account all you need to bring down the immortality?
I am not talking about damn hard to undo. I am talking about impossible.

Probably, and this is just a guess, the same way that they're supposed to do a quest that requires said 5 queens when you can kill them all which requires an additional quest to bring back?

No! These quests are NOT easy! Look at their reward! Aside from the monk guild/power one-time thing, you get at least one honour, and potential for a notable one which you don't even know what does, and an addition to stats. Addition to stats!

They worked hard for their stats. You'll just have to put in as much effort to work for yours. I have faith that you can do it!

Getting them up took ~20 hours of coordinated work from ~10+ people, with different people coming and going throughout. I was only there for the last 7 or so, but it was a mammoth undertaking. If you're wondering how to undo it, I'd suggest first gathering a lot of people, and then settling in for a long time.

And, if there is any justice in the world, spores will haunt your dreams too. Or something similar will.

In the mean time... enjoy the fact that empowered kephera yield more experience?

They do?

I take everything back. quiet.gif

And I know how to undo it. And I know that we'll prolly never have enough people around for it. tongue.gif Oh well. Additional exp. wub.gif

So tempting to do. But alas, no time. T_T
Shiri2007-05-16 07:01:31
You can probably do it with a group of less than the huge amounts we have, it'll just take you even longer.

EDIT: Assuming they take an equal amount of work, which isn't exactly a given.
Vaerhon2007-05-16 07:01:45
The extra experience is just a guess. Depends how they implemented the empowering, really. Test it and get back to us?

And the stat addition is only for Kephera, anyway. I think.

So, since you're not illithoid, no gain there.

I already said I want the honours eventually. Plus, it's me being spiteful and not wanting Kephs to have additional stats. tongue.gif
(Since like all of Seren is insectoid now. -.- Damn posers. Tae'dae are the only tanks. *shakefist*)
Shiri2007-05-16 07:04:19
Heh, we have relatively few Kephera. Several of us that are are changelings too, we only have a couple of permanent converts.
Callia2007-05-16 07:15:42
Celest I think has the most, 4 established characters, and a few novices that seem to be sticking around. And if you want to see how tanky a Kephera can be, at least vs knights, spar me. Havn't had a chance to spar many other classes yet.
Ashteru2007-05-16 07:16:33
Posers, I say. If I ever get rid of this forge, you shall rue the day.

Also, whenever you got a problem with my arguments ( I don't have that many! ) check my sig. It explains how I work wonderfully. happy.gif

Yeah, it was equally impossible to do this quest. Some people were on it almost 24 hours straight! And we all knew that if Magnagora piped up and killed a few key denizens we would have been thrown back for hours and hours.

From what I know the Illithoid quest is much easier as there are A LOT less ways how we can interfere or stop you from doing it. But there are 1001 ways to botch the kephera quests. sad.gif

We were only able to do it because both Magnagora and Glomdoring didn't intefere. I'm serious there. With fairly little effort you could make sure to keep this quest from ever being done. But I don't think we could stop the illithoid quest for a variety of reasons.

Sounds to me like it's time for you to make an alt and do the Illithoid quests!

I'm sensing jealousy.

Which is what really scares me. Number one Serenwilde have no love for the Illithoid so they will not take that race in account when they try to balance monks and give them skills. They will simply push for the best things a kephera can have. Secondly they have 5 combatants that know anything about balance, maybe 6, I am very nervous about all the Mazako's of Serenwilde being on a comittee to help a new archetype that we all get to play. It will take years of envoy slots to fix them if they get distorted by non combat knowledgeable people.

Very delayed reply, but better late than never.

I wouldn't be afraid about people who don't know a thing about combat designing the monks' skills. The committee consists of all mature people and good combatants (exception: one person who isn't a combatant, but is still very mature and reasonable), and they have the admins to temper them if they get out of line.

Now time to head to Serenwilde, I have to get in on this action, especially if I am to remain this race.

Thankfully, your first point is irrelevant. The committee is not entirely IC - They need to be partially OOC in order to talk about things like Balance, etc. Do you honestly think that the Admins would set up the design process in such a way that it could become completely unbalanced in one org's favour? It's basically just a big brainstoming tank, as far as I know. The committee sends out and discusses ideas, along with the admin. The admin want the game to be balanced, funnily enough.
Diamondais2007-05-16 20:52:17
The commitee is like Envoys in the way we're suggesting skills and helping to balance them.

The GM's are there to help bring the Monks more into the Commune, we had a slight problem with this when the Bards came out. Some had the feeling we didn't care as much for them.

Really, Ilda, you're nice and all but stop. Just because our characters dislike Illithoid does not mean that we as players are going out of our way to make sure that it's crap all for the Orgs that have it.
Unknown2007-05-18 21:22:23
I know exactly what to call Celest's monk guild.

MONKFISH!
