It's not, but there's the Black Heart in the Prison. When you touch it, you hear Illith's side of the story involving splintering and fighting Keph, etc. It's pretty freaky.

Yeah, that was fun. I think Kaevras opened it when he did the first part of the quest. Wuylinfe and I saw it, the Caffrey came because he needed to finish the map and got a big surprise. Later I showed it to Kalodan and a few Serenwilders, then Aiakon and Vanatul, because I know they are good scholars IC and OOC I know they are history fans. I would've shouted about it, but (1) some people have complained about my shouts, (2) I was fearful of org in-fighting if everybody came at once and (3) I felt some people should actually explore and find it themselves.
Elostian pulled me away in the middle of me showing Vanatul, as I quoted. That scared the crap out of me, I thought I touched it so many times and ended up being taken by Illith!

It's not quite the same as the other books, however. It isn't on the website, and doesn't fit in with the chronology (since it's really just an alternate perspective of the same events). Also, ICly speaking, who would put that in the Library?

I finally managed to get down to the Prison after a single death and subsequent dozens of near-death encouners. Unfortunately, the entrance to the Black Heart seems to be closed off. I guess you'll have to wait until someone does an Illithoid quest to reopen it, or summat.

I don't get that... I only get that the taint was a manifestation of his power or essence as he spread out after trying to escape... It never said that she hadn't any of her own, only that she was weakened. Perhaps too weak to produce much taint of her own. Plus, the whole thing is from her POV... and she's claiming to be the strongest... but I'm pretty sure everything else has said that Kethuru was the strongest.
