Some sort of message that informs the new players that it will decay within 10 days(months) and perhaps at the very least that new weapons can be bought at trader bobs.

Not a problem I've ran into.. but it seems like the 2nd most common issue on the Wyrm GNT "Where my sword go!? ZOMG"

10 months, which is 10 OOC days, is enough for a newbie to graduate. If they don't figure out during that time how to PROBE items, or don't get enough money to buy/make themselves a cheap 3-wood club, it means they really were completely clueless, even for a newbie.

If this was to to be implemented though, please no mention of Trader Bob. Sending people to him is just cruel - he's a total ripoff.

I find his prices reasonable for health/mana/bromide vials, as well as newbie lutes. Other than that, though, he's a bit expensive-- but he is supposed to be the last resort. (They NEED to remove the maces/longswords from his stock, though-- those weapons are AWFUL. Every newbie who buys 'em regrets it.)

Though this may be true, many newbies play very causually. I certainly took two OOC weeks to graduate, because I was mostly playing Achaea still at the time. Item decay is an important concept in Lusternia, and something newbies should be warned about.
