I hope this makes matematically-anal people all happy and warm in the inside now? Cheers, size is ONLY dependant on height, and not on girth, not at all. Also, every member of the same race has the same exact size. All because Estarra said she "imagines" it is like that.
Pretty sure everyone agrees that size is the "average". You fail at sarcasm.

Because if an admin imagines something, it is the only appropriate point of view.
It's the most viable view, considering Estarra is (one of the) head admin(s). Go troll another thread. :)

Well, at least I don't make "subtle" jabs at people who don't agree with me.

Where did you get the idea that I was trying to be subtle? And it's not that you disagree, it's that you did it so vehemently and ended up being incorrect.

Does size still affect writhe time? That'd be the most damning argument against using an argument that something is more delicate or has hollow bones. Webbing doesn't care about your bones.
Unknown2007-05-24 16:18:49
Except that I still have an argument impossible to beat - the HELP TRILL file, to which I will cling until I receive a verbal equivalent of dismemberment. From one side we have tall people with the size of TEN, from the other - a small post by Estarra which does not enforce her point-of-view on others. Not to mention that the help files are probably written by Estarra (or Roark) as well, and that the first one is more readily available.
Even though this seems to be somewhat incosistent (nothing new in Lusternia, but I digress - it's not that bad as it sounds), my argument seems to be still stronger.

Something mechanically enforced is stronger than a sentence in a help file, if it still is mechanically enforced.
Also, Trill could very easily simply be exceptions to the rule, as it's never been said by anyone that it's to be strictly enforced.

At the risk of completely embarassing myself, here's something I did way back in 2003/2004 for racial size comparisons. (I had one that included the illithoid and kephera too but it's too embarassing to post... however goes to show how long ago they were planned out!)
Xenthos2007-05-24 17:26:15
Hmm.
The Trill seems smaller than the Human.
Perhaps the helpfile is just a bit unclear-- maybe they look tall, due to being extraordinarily thin / delicate, providing an illusion of height despite their smaller stature?

Some of them are comically bad, but quite a few are pretty good (especially considering it looks like it was done in MS Paint).
Also, Illithoids and Kephera plz.
EDIT: Specialized races, too! :P
Vix2007-05-24 17:35:36
Ooh, are those a sword and shield and a polearm specialization I see?
Unknown2007-05-24 17:42:50
Polearm = some monks (or so I've heard), sword + shield = artistic license.

You can't use a sword and shield?

Not effectively.
Though I don't see what would be wrong with a sword and shield spec using BM and BC afflictions...
Vix2007-05-24 17:53:59
Can monks wear armor though?

Estarra, with all due respect, that seriously contradicts the help files on this subject. Which one should we follow under the circumstances? (Also considering that the stat is called "Size" not "Height")
Unknown2007-05-24 19:30:34
Faeling are the same size as furrikin?
Hit connection problems yesterday, so my search died. The thread I was looking for did take girth or weight into account for size, as people have already suggested.

My take is that faelings are a bit smaller than furrikin, just look closer to the same size due to the wings (in that picture).
Just not as much smaller as I'd have expected.
Maybe the Faeling is a Shadowcaster that lost its colouring. *coughs*

For being made with a computer software, this looks incredibly good!
And just a small thing I had to say....
LOL WOOKIES!
I so expect a Chewbacca Igasho

Something else.... Estarra really thought of Bonecrusher Aslaran before Murphy
And yay! I always felt that the Taurian would get some kind of Polarm racial specialization

I only posted this for purposes of amusement and certainly not to be followed seriously! Help files trump.
