I'm really surprised no one has posted here complaining that since the Gods made all users of Illusions effectively force-forget the skill, all rogues that had the skill are screwed, since they cannot use skillchoice select to select illusions or their specialization. I'm really surprised that they would do something that unfair to their customers. And not it hasn't been overlooked, I know for a fact that Estarra herself confirmed that they are full aware of this. Sucks to be a non-conformist, I guess.

How many living Illusions using rogues are there, anyway, you faux nonconformist?

Syntax: WEAVE ILLUSORYSELF
Power: 5 (Any)

Forcefield x2 with no reliance on ego, but no way to sip the extra health back. This will help bards out a ton hunting it looks like. As well as make demigod bards of certain races have the most possible health of anyone in the game. (sorry Ash)

Syntax: WEAVE DEADLYPATTERN
Inquisition defense stripping on crack. Or perhaps just enhanced Spring defense stripping. Not quite sure.

There's a ton of other new things in both skillsets that look useful, but those two caught my eye as being nifty.
Shamarah2007-05-25 22:36:14
IllusorySelf looks dumb. GG damage.
Jack2007-05-25 22:44:12
Does look a little powerful. Are there any other factors? Obviously it can't be stacked but can it be immediately put up again upon dissolution?
Unknown2007-05-25 22:46:30
I really wish I hadn't changed from Mugwump now...I'm very sad.

On the other hand, we have a bazillion ways to kill mana now. I'm also kinda sad that glamours got Nature and Statue, although it obviously makes more sense.
Arel2007-05-25 22:56:04
I didn't know illusory self was extra health. I just thought it was an improved reflection that attacks sometimes hit.

Maybe I missread it. dunno.gif

I think it's like dodge, in that people randomly hit your illusion instead of you, except it dies after it takes so much damage. Which also implies that it only works against damage attacks, and not everything like dodge does.

Largely off topic, but does anyone have a list of all available terrain?

I would think it works like dodge. However the way to remove this totattly otherwise overpowered skill is by hitting it with 4K damage.
Kaervas2007-05-25 23:18:45
Illusoryself is nothing like forcefield. It has double your health and randomly absorbs damage until it's health runs out, then it fades away.
Ildaudid2007-05-25 23:43:02
No more weaving manses for Forren, he has to rely on a bard who would choose glamours over tarot (which is unlikely for celest bards, since they have recessional, and aeon is great for recessional)
Daereth2007-05-25 23:44:21
kudos on glamours! I love it
Shamarah2007-05-26 00:18:26
RainbowPattern + ColourMaelstrom + HypnoticPattern + Fascination + Music = DEAR LORD THE AFFLICTION SPAM.
Yrael2007-05-26 00:25:27
I love the way he tosses Ialie in there, as if he's just bowing to the inevitable. *giggle*
Furien2007-05-26 01:10:55
Dot dot dot.

I finally tell myself I'm going to leave Spiritsingers for the new Monk guild.

THEN you release a skillset that makes Illusions Spiritsingers possible- no, OVERPOWERED. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO BE SAVING MY LESSONS FOR? What GUILD do I WANT TO BE IN? cry.gif

Syntax: WEAVE MAZE
Power: 10 (Any)
The greatest and most feared of glamours is the cunning illusory maze,
to which you may banish your hapless victim. The victim will wander,
lost and disoriented, in the depths of the maze, succored by naught save
the constant maelstrom of colours that resides within the labyrinth. If
the illusory maze dissolves before your hapless victim finds their way
out, then they will be stricken with a variety of unpleasant illnesses
from the bizarre illusions you have conjured from the reaches of your
imagination. The colour maelstrom within the maze will only affect your
personal enemies.

This skill is fun, but gives the illusionist the best escape method in the basin. I was put into the maze, and it was so much fun, but the amount of time I spent in the maze would have given any bard plenty of time to run/tessersect and get away. I have a slight worry that is what this skill will constantly be used for and the people who cast this maze wont be sticking around to continue attacking when you get out of the maze with all those nice afflictions.

I could be wrong though. Just a little nervous.

It is the Transcendent power though. And it can only affect one user at a time, and the power cost prevents it from being used against a party.
Unknown2007-05-26 01:30:00
I'm actually kinda disappointed at the Trans Phantasms skill. I can't really see myself ever using it.
