Well, Bards ARE squishy. Maybe this allows for either, 1) Running or 2) Getting all readied up for a victim full of afflictions and having the upper hand on a jump, which is really difficult to have

Estarra has said time and time again that there's no real place for rogues in Lusternia. Look at the fact that rogues can't use a bunch of their skills due to power restrictions.
I, personally, fully support Estarra in this decision.

I'm starting to think we're repeating that for the sake of being consistent, like someone who's in an argument who had a point that originally sounded like a good idea, but is just now saying it as the only answer to the argument. There were problems with rogues in other games, yes, but I really dislike all four orgs in Lusternia. If it weren't for me being able to be a somewhat viable rogue, I'd quit, and not look back.

No... We're repeating that because that's the way the game was designed and implemented. We're repeating it because that's what Estarra wants. Since Estarra HAS essentially said that rogues have no place in Lusternia (much like she has said that Celest will follow the light), then, again, I'll support her in enforcing it.

Well, Estarra hasn't led us wrong yet, but I've not been a fan of the four opposing orgs (light vs taint, commune vs wyrded commune, north/south, east/west) for most of the time. It's so... cliched after three years, as if there isn't room to grow dynamically.
But, that's another conversation for another time.
From what I've seen of the two new skillsets (Doman was fooling around with some of the things), they're pretty fantastic!

HypnoticPattern needs a cure. Even if it's just focus spirit or a delayed cure or something.

I agree with Richter here, the light versus taint aspect of the four organizations has become overly done and is becoming boring. Dysolis who has participated in the light and taint sides found it to become over done and boring. Most rogues who are not Richter or those who bought lots of credits like myself will generally have a tough time living in Lusternia. I do not understand why rogues are frowned upon ( if you consider Dysolis a rogue, he hails Gaudiguch), some rogues have lots of potential for role playing. For example Dysolis lives within the Skarch in hopes of finding Gaudiguch one day.

Alls I have to say about these changes is, other then they look hell of a lot of fun....: fracking faeleaf... making me rewrite an entire section of code because of the stupid timer.
On the other hand, which ever divine made the faeleaf whisper to me, thank you very much... that actually cleared my head enough, both times, to first time, figure out what I needed to do, second time to fix the bug.

what is the time before you can put faeleaf back up now? will probably have to put in an alarm for it.

PhantomWall - Entangle your foe with a phantom wall.
Revan used this on Celestia, recently. He phantomwalled every other room and slowed down the group trying to murder him. This doesn't cost any power, does it? We had only one illusionist and it took ages to clean up the mess.
StolenThoughts - Hear what your victim says and hears.
Afflicted everyone in the group with this, only illusionists can cure, it seems.
Overall his use of Phantasms was brilliant, given that he could split groups apart because of different writhe times, as well as slow down any progress at killing him. Though it might have worked better for him used defensively, when he has the numerical advantage and can pick off the stragglers. (Where did Xanon go?)
He was still killed a few times because of that.

Dude, it wasn't a group... it was a frikkin army. like... 11 people against Xanon and I *cry*
the setup I used was a bit flawed. But meh, it worked out I suppose. Phantomsphere is a pain in the arse =/

lol @ demonrays. To bad it costs power though, can't mass spam it quite as much in group combat to mass slaughter everyone. Though does it do as much damage as demonrays?
I also like how Hypnotic pattern references a fae that doesn't even (or no longer) exists. Maybe Wiccans should have a willowisp that disrupts equilibrium...

Mystic Maze -- Sends the victim and his ents into an instanced randomize mazed (pocket dimension). The user must walk out of the maze to get back to where he was. (Or fades if enough time passes).

This would be awesome as the new trans skill in Glamours. Minipit ftw!

They still exist, they now just, for some unexplained reason, refuse to be faecalled by moondancers and shadowdancers alike, and/or all wiccans somehow have selective amnesia and forgot how to call them specifically.I also like how Hypnotic pattern references a fae that doesn't even (or no longer) exists. Phantomwalls is simple, just fix your system to writhe for it, also he can't mass cast it. He has to cast it room by room, direction by direction.
StolenThoughts is cureable to.... actually all the illusions are cureable if not by concentrate, by critique here or critique me, also can be cured through dispell. So now it is time to get busy in your arts skillset
Clise2007-05-27 02:29:00
Are you seriously suggesting that a trans arts skill that cost 8power to use is the answer?
Sylphas2007-05-27 02:40:11
Or have an illusionist along. Bard support ftw?
Arel2007-05-27 02:52:43
Bards have the choice of illusions and all mages take illusions. They can dispell as a cure, right? Does dispell work on illusions woven by someone of a higher skill level?
Arix2007-05-27 02:52:47
bards=support
Furien2007-05-27 02:55:12
You can't dispel the illusions of someone that is a higher Illusions level than you.
One issue I see is with Favours that boost the effect of Illusions. If the enemy Illusionist is Trans, and so are you, but the enemy has a TF, you're probably screwed since favours boost skills above trans in some cases. (It's meant to help scales-with-skillrank attacks, etc.)
That should probably be looked at, maybe.
